Only problem I still have with the V2 firmware is that the power output seems to be stuck. My V1 runs at 23dBm easily, but the V2 will not accept higher than 17/19 (even though it states 20 as max), not through commandline nor by the web management.

Code:
ath1      8 available transmit-powers :
          0 dBm         (1 mW)
          8 dBm         (6 mW)
          10 dBm        (10 mW)
          12 dBm        (15 mW)
          14 dBm        (25 mW)
          16 dBm        (39 mW)
          18 dBm        (63 mW)
          20 dBm        (100 mW)
          Current Tx-Power=17 dBm       (50 mW)

root@DD-WRT:~# iwlist ath0 txpower
ath0      8 available transmit-powers :
          0 dBm         (1 mW)
          8 dBm         (6 mW)
          10 dBm        (10 mW)
          12 dBm        (15 mW)
          14 dBm        (25 mW)
          16 dBm        (39 mW)
          18 dBm        (63 mW)
          20 dBm        (100 mW)
          Current Tx-Power=19 dBm       (79 mW)

Anyone noticed a problem with the WNDR3700v2 and the 2.4GHz radio stopping working after 48hours or so? The 5GHz side seems to be fine, however that's obviously not good enough.

The only resolution to the issue is to power cycle the device. Curious if there is a software side fix to this or work around? If not, I am likely just going to return the device as I don't feel like resetting the device every few days.

if you don't like resetting manually, you can use the GUI to schedule an automatic reboot at a fixed time.

Flashed my v2 with the firmware from page 3 and all was fine until the next morning when no 2.4 ghz devices in my house could connect. No signal was detected by any of them resetting the router did not help. 5 ghz worked fine, just no 2.4 ghz at all. Router worked fine for 3 weeks prior on both bands. Finally gave up and reverted to stock Netgear firmware but the radio was still dead. Returned it to BestBuy for a new one, but I won't put DD-WRT on it until its been tested a little more. Can't afford too many $100+ routers to experiment with. Sad

I don't see a download link on the top of Page 3. The wiki link says that I don't have access. Help!! Can someone please provide a link to this download?

I do not think it was DD-WRT as people are having these issues with the stock firmware as well.

had the same problem with the stopping radios, etc.

Changed to OpenWRT and it's perfect. The GUI is not as nice as dd-wrt but the radios work perfectly.

This is because dd-wrt uses MadWifi drivers, and OpenWRT uses ath9k (the same one that NetGear uses).

OpenWRT is more power user oriented and have a package system where you can install anything you want. (printserver, mail server, apache, php, ruby, muti wan setup, ext2/3/4, xfs, ntfs, etc...)

The only problem i had was that I had to install the GUI (Luci) manually, using telnet Sad

Hi Brainslayer, thanks for the speedy support for v2. Been busy since I last posted in the other thread and finally got some time to look for updates to the v2.

Flashed from factory 1.0.0.6 to the build 16230 attached on page 3 with no problems.

Time to play around with it.

Looks like the 3700v2 isn't the end of the road.

There is now a THIRD model of "N600". The WNDR3800 is coming soon:

Also announced is the WNDR4000:

I get the following in FF & IE when trying to apply this or current stock firmware to my wndr3700 v2

Current version 1.0.468NA
Uploaded version 1.04.68

Firmware upgrade failed. Please check your file.

Current version 1.0.468NA
Uploaded version 1.0.0.8

Firmware upgrade failed. Please check your file.

Can anyone confirm/deny their v2 came with 1.0.468NA firmware?

I think mine came with 1.0.0.4 and I flashed it to 1.0.0.6 the day I bought it. I flashed it to 1.0.0.8 last week without any issues. If you can't go from 4 to 8, maybe you can go from 4 to 6, then to 1.0.0.8.

You can download the 1.0.0.6 and 1.0.0.8 from the WNDR3770v2 support page.

Yeah that's a V1.

If you're going to stay on stock Netgear firmware just use the built-in web-based upgrader. It'll grab the correct version and install it for you automatically.

Hello,
I just bought WNDR3700v2 today, uploaded DD-WRT which Brainslayer posted in this thread and I must say it works flawlessly. I get 17MBps when copying over 5GHz wifi and it seems to be stable so far. But I think that the signal quality indicator is broken. When I take my laptop approximately 10 meters away from the router the web interface shows signal quality around 3%. But the file transfer is still very fast (~15MBps) and I get 4/5 signal bars on my laptop. But anyway, great work, much appreciated!I will gladly help testing new builds.
