Can you check your outputpower via ssh with iwlist txpower ?

It reports 31dBm on 2.4GHz and 22dBm on 5GHz...

as the max power or selected power?

Weird, I don't seem to be able to increase the power.

It is the current reported power. I don't trust it very much though.

when I run command "iwlist txpower" I get...
ath0: 20dBm (100mW)
ath1: 17dBm (50mW)

is what I get, no matter how high I raise it in DD-WRT. A bit mor power on ath1 (5ghz) would be nice...

I set "United states" as my country. That enabled the device to pump more power to the antennas.

Hey guys, just picked up a Netgear N600 WNDR3700v2 last week and flashed it with the latest DD-WRT build found in this thread. No problems so far, been 2 days uptime.

Yeah, I can confirm it is pretty stable and fast
(file copying speed 17MBps with my Broadcom 1505@5GHz).
Very good piece of hardware and DD-WRT seems to work flawlessly with it.

My config:
WAN
|
TP-LINK 1043ND
|
|
2,4GHz clients (including WNDR3700v2 with one wired PC as server)
|
|
5GHz clients

I must say it is rock stable. No disconnects, no lagging, Internet works at full speed.

I purchased two stock 1.0.0.6 WNDR3700v2's and upgraded both out of the box to 1.0.0.8. And I've had similar dropping issues that others have reported here and on other forums.

So I decided to try swapping out the firmware to dd-wrt, which I've used with success in other devices.

But when using the Netgear web interface to upgrade the firmware to dd-wrt's wndr3700v2-factory.img, I receive the error:

This firmware file is incorrect! Please get the firmware file again and make sure it is the correct firmware for this product.
This screen will automatically return to the previous screen in a few seconds...

Any suggestions??

Strange. Did not happen to me. Try the NA DD-WRT version and also try to downgrade back to 1.0.0.6.

Just picked up 4 of these v2's from amazon, 2 for my house to replace a pair of aging wrt54g boxes and a couple for work to cover a decent sized building. Build loaded without issue on all 4, WDS was up and running in minute and its been rock solid under heavy use all day so far.

Really nice work dd-wrt team.

is QoS working on DD-WRT? I heard it has been broken for more then 2 years by now. Does it mean you can't really use it?

THANK YOU so much for posting and supporting the wndr3700v2
Loaded with no issue from 1.0.0.8 stock firmware, followed wiki directions to the letter, none of the 4 common issues happened. Seems to load pages faster, on iwlist is taking 23 on ath0 and 24 on ath1. Up and running 2 days, no issues (knock on wood). Range is improved. Was skeptical, but in garage is concrete and no issue with signal and getting 20+ where was always less than 10 before and shaky.

Found a bug: won't accept samba password/settings for usb drive. Either lets everyone see, and doesn't take password, or is hidden. Any ideas how to fix this? Any new updates to this firmware coming?

Thank you again for the hard work.

After a hard reset I was able to apply v1 [1.0.7.98] firmware. Odd thing is my router came in the red spined box which is supposed to be v2? Seems getting a v2 is actually a crap shoot. I believed I have a v2 router because the FCC filings for my router ID (#PY308300092) denote the redesign. Also N600 is printed on my box. Either the N600 does not denote v2, my router is mis labled, or my v2 is accepting v1 firmware. The v2 [1.0.0.8] firmware still fails to upload. Is there some other way to confirm/deny which version router I have?

One problem ive noticed periodically when clicking apply is that the screen will go completely white/blank and remain so indefinitely until you reload or press back.

I have the latest DD-WRT on my v2 and I am continuing to experience problems where the wireless will just drop out and it will have to reconnect after a few minutes.

I never had this problem with my WRT54GL with DD-WRT. Anyone else experiencing this? Again this is the WNDR3700v2 with the latest available build of DD-WRT.
