if i build a generic 64k version it would overwrite the default nvram and the cfe will not boot anymore. so it will brick the device. the nvram is handled in the kernel code. so i dont know how you would modify it

In the recent past I have post-compiled modified several of your generic 64K builds to run on the N66U. I'm willing to take the risk.

you dont have the wireless driver yet, so you cannot compile the kernel by yourself.

Can I upgrade to this firmware via the web interface? I have Merlin FW 3.0.0.4.270.26.
This FW contains chillispot, samba, transmission?

I flash via the web interface. After flashing a long time to reboot. No lights "wireless network.", "power" flickers from time to time. Samba and FTP and chillispot work like normal. I will use this firmware because it needed chillispot. If there is some sort of bug - I'll write.

PS Translated by google, so sorry.

i understand, but i havent yet the 64k support ready which deals around with the original original bad cfe. my primary target right now is to test if all is working so far, before i start to add new code to the kernel. the 64k support is simply a bad hack and not clean code and i have to deal with very different problems in the nvram code like nand flash support etc. it must work on all devices and not just on a single one

thanks for that explanation, we were wating for. ( ticket 2747 )

i am excited, if USB will now work.

jffs is working? it wasnt (maybe disabled ) at my last try with 32k build some month ago
