Mind hitting me up with a link?

I can't seem to find the firmware you are referencing.

EDIT:

I guess what is confusing me, is that I don't see a firmware labeled as being v.3.0

I am seeing the following two in the beta folder for broadcom:

ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/betas/2015/10-30-2015-r28054/broadcom_K26/dd-wrt.v24-28054_NEWD-2_K2.6_big_RT-N66U.trx

ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/betas/2015/10-30-2015-r28054/broadcom_K3X/dd-wrt.v24-28054_NEWD-2_K3.x-big-RT-N66U.trx

Which one are you using? K2.6, or K3.X?

Thanks~!

Use the second one you linked. You may brick your router if you use the first one.

Sorry for my late response. As Malachi stated, the second one is the one I was using. Now I jumped to v3.0-r28598 (mega) from the 24th of December.

Hello,
my wrt54 is now finally broken and I would like to use as RT-N66U now as my main router.

The original firmware is very unstable, must restart the router every few days new Sad
Now I've tested tomato, runs very good and stable, but i read there is no development.

Question now Smile
is DD-WRT for the Asus RT-N66U further developed in the future?
So, if there is a development i think is better to use DD-WRT as such tomato, or? Very Happy

THANKS Smile

Check if you need a CFE Upgrade first. The current version is 1.0.1.9.

Of course it would knock out the wireless, it reboots the router and erases your settings.

Yes, but wired didn't work either, so I had no way of changing the settings to make wireless work again.

I have the same problem with the 27240 build.
I willing to help for the testing if it can help solve this problem.

I've similar issue with my RT-N66U B1. I tried many different version dd-wrt firmware and everytime I have same problem, no access through LAN, only via WLAN. When I make erase nvram via telnet, then WLAN don't get up, so I lost access to router.

There is also Merlin's AsusWRT, based on the original f/w. If you're having instability w/ the OEM f/w, you should update the CFE, per Per Yngve Berg. Smile Actually, you have to install AsusWRT to do the CFE update.

Merlin´s AsusWRT is great, have testet any weeks.
But WLan range is worse, DD-WRT and Tomato have better range.

There's John's fork of Merlin's firmware, which has a better range, too.

Hi all, after reading everything, I would like to change my TomatoUSB with this build:
http://download1.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/downloads/betas/2016/01-19-2016-r28882/broadcom_K3X/dd-wrt.v24-28882_NEWD-2_K3.x-big-RT-N66U.trx
I would use this one because it's the last (and I hope most stable) one.
I do not think I need a CFE upgrade since I have 1.0.1.2, so I would try the Web GUI update.

Is everything correct?

TIA

First go back to Asus firmware. Then put dd-wrt on it.
Since you do have the old cfe, you can only use the 3k.X builds.

I could upgrade cfe, anyway I was reading the K3.x builds are good for any CFE, isn't right?
Isn't this good?

Right, that's why I said to only use the k3.x builds. As to which build to use, there are threads lately for every build released. Look in the forum and see if anyone has used the one you are asking about.
Or just try it.
