I tried the Shibby Tomato 64K version out. Works good, but I really want to use virtual wireless on a separate lan. Virtual wireless didn't work so I switched back to the Merlin build. Funnily enough, my Samba host names resolve correctly no matter if I'm on wireless or ethernet now. Go figure.

looks like the stock FW is only allowing me to put in a value up to 100 for my main router.....but my secondary n66u which is setup in AP mode can be boosted to 500. What gives?
Try double clicking the apply button. Mine wouldn't apply the change until I did that.

I tried to install dd-tw firmware on my asus rt-66u but i think that i brick my router
I can not access my router
I used the instruction on the wiki http://dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Asus_RT-N66U but did not wait 5-10 minutes for the router to reboot

Set your computer to 192.168.1.100.
Turn your router off. Press the reset button, and while pressed turn it back on. Wait until the power led starts blinking, then release the reset button.
Open your browser to http://192.168.1.1 to access the CFE mini web interface. From there you will be able to flash a firmware or reset nvram.

This question will probably be more Linux-centric than anything, but here goes. As I'm sure we're all aware, the stock FW on the N66 supports USB printer sharing - even multifunction printers. It sure as hell isn't perfect, as half the time the printer doesn't work until both the router and printer are rebooted, but when it does work, it works beautifully - as if the printer is connected directly to the PC. Scan, print, copy, whatever. My question is this: What would it take to get the same functionality on DD-WRT? I'm aware we can use the P910nd printer daemon for USB printer sharing, but to my knowledge it only supports printing, not multifunction. Any suggestions? _________________ Click here for Eko beta Click here for Brainslayer beta >>>PEACOCK THREAD!<<<

Please do not PM me for help.
Has anyone opened a Trac ticket yet about the nvram issue and entered pointers there to how Asus has patched it at the firmware level in Asuswrt, and that patch being successfully ported to custom firmwares like they did with Tomato?
Otherwise, I doubt any of the DD-WRT devs will work on it - in fact, they might not even be aware of the issue...
