Anyone successfully used a USB wifi dongle to add N?

I have an ASUS WL520GU that I love. I also have a cheap little Airlink USB N dongle using RTL8192su chip. Has anyone been able to add N to an old G router like mine by plugging in a N wifi dongle?

I read about 3G support in some builds, not no one appears to have done the N upgrade successfully.
