Hi,

Got a new Power AP-N router this week, thought i'd give DD-WRT a go.

I can get the firmware to upload successfully, using either command line or GUI tftp. Problem is, it won't install. The indicator LED's just go back to flashing like it's still in recovery mode.

Tried firmwares P-APN v18024, P-APN v18767, P-APN v18777, and Bullet M2 v14896, Bullet M2 v14311, Airrouter Ath9k v17201

I flash back to AirOS 5.5 between every flash. Getting AirOS on there is no issue. It flashes on, the LED's stop blinking and the router reboots as its supposed to.

After a successful DD-WRT upload the router does not reboot, the LED's go back to blinking like it's still in recovery mode. Power cycling the router then just makes it invisible, as one can no longer see it via ethernet link.

Advice?

I see i'm not the only one with this problem

http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=155295&sid=e169da0ce5d9031e9e34afbc5edc5f0a

and

http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=154984&sid=e169da0ce5d9031e9e34afbc5edc5f0a

is reporting the exact same issue. perhaps a bootloader change in the latest v5.5 (build 12536) AirOs firmware?

Yes there is an updated boot loader in that build and the number of users reporting dd-wrt flash failures does also make me think that it is related to the boot loader update.

serial log someone?

Problems reported also on Bullet M2 and Nanostation loco m5, latest AirOS 5.5 build 12536 with u-boot update seems to be a common denominator.
You can probably experience this on any device that you update to that AirOS build.

fyi, OpenWRT is not affected. it may be a kernel size limit.

so are we stuck with this problem? its this the kind of support you guys offer? Dont want to sound rude, but if you guys sell the license for this type of devices, you guys should have a device to test your own software right? So can anyone here help us.
Sash, are involved on this ddwrt bussines? if so you stated that you have several m5 products, why dont you take one and help us out, please. Thanks for any help.
