I'm also on DD-WRT v24-sp2 (01/10/12) stdkong - build 18050M for few weeks now and i have to say it is the best version till now.
For 5GHz wifi you have to manually set wireless channel to 36 and then also my wusb610n sees 5ghz network.

I'm currently trying to flash from the std-usb-nas build to the 15962 big build, every time I flash it stays on the newer 16785 std-usb-nas build and doesn't change. I've tried a 30/30/30, what am I missing here?

1) Do a 30/30/30.
2) Flash with the Trailed build (ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/others/eko/BrainSlayer-V24-preSP2/2010/12-24-10-r15962/broadcom_K26/dd-wrt.v24-15962_NEWD-2_K2.6_std_usb_nas-e3000.bin) Wait a full 5 minutes before doing anything
3) Do another 30/30/30
4) Then flash with the Big build (ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/others/eko/BrainSlayer-V24-preSP2/2010/12-24-10-r15962/broadcom_K26/dd-wrt.v24-15962_NEWD-2_K2.6_big-e2k-e3k.bin) Wait another full 5 minutes before doing anything
5) Do a another 30/30/30

Question, if I am currently running TomatoUSB, which of the above versions should I flash to? Trying to avoid a brick. When I first flashed from stock firmware I tried 16785 which is the version listed on the router database. Had a problem with 5G then required a reboot so I went to TomatoUSB.

Was interested in trying 15962.

I would say: first restore stock firmware, then flash DD-WRT according to the wiki and then flash the Kong build.

Interesting about flashing to stock build first.. I flashed the kong 18050 last night from tomato, first I used a trailed bin(dd-wrt.v24-14853_NEWD-2_K2.6_std_usb_ftp-e3000.bin) then flashed the kong 18050 file (usb-ftp-samba3-vpn-nv60k-broadcom.bin).

It looks good except for the fact that I have no usb options .. Is this what the build is like?? I will include a screen shot.

Why I am not getting the usb 1.1, 2.0 options etc, as listed in the wiki??

Is IPV6 brouting module works in this build ?
With the default v24sp2 (build 17990) mega I experienced connection drop when I set my ipv6 brouting rule.

The wiki is for official dd-wrt builds.

Kong has made a lot of changes to his builds.
You should read his release notes

I corroborate: flashing Tomato by Toastman from a Kong build works (using the E3000 file ending in .bin) and flashing Kong from Tomato also works. In both cases, I chose the option to erase the NVRAM after flashing.

Tomato seemed nice, but it misses Site Survey, WiViz (the later is available in Kong builds but does not work in the most recent builds) and above all I could not start the Optware services, they seem DD-WRT specific.

You guys need to be searching the forums. This question and others, has been answered before for the E3000. I know because I asked it about the E3000 several months ago. Lets please start searching. There are TONS of threads out there answering this and more about the E3000, that's besides the peacock which answers 90% of questions.

Does the 18050 version have usb options or should I just flash the 18730 kong version? Is it stable enough? which do I need the VPN, or DLNA version?

Both versions have USB support, but 18730 is much faster with USB hard disks (about twice as fast as 18050 with my Samsung G3 2 TB). DLNA contains an UPnP media streamer, while the VPN version is aimed at VPN connections. So, if you use it for media streaming, flash the DLNA version, if you don't, then flash it with the VPN version.

And the suggested 5 minutes wait time should be 10 minutes (rather safe than sorry).
