I opened this topic cause no one really seem to know the answare, its all about gessing. Here it goes:

1- Wireless driver from DD-WRT its the same from Openwrt?

2- Considering Ap Bridge for Multipoint,is IXP XSCALE superior on this case? All that hardware is needed? Even though no routing its gonna be present?Let say 30 simultaneous users per Xr2 Card.

3- Everyone say that RouterStation Pro its a great product, is it better then Cambria products? I thought that a Intel 667MHZ would crash down a Atheros Processor!

4- DDWRT its already stable for N product? I mean running like cambria + R52NH as ap, on outdoor enviorment?

5- Is it better to run a Ap on B/G vs N where 90% of users are B/G CPE units?

Thats it thanks alot!!

Hi,

1) not 100% the same

2) don't really get this question
what exactly do you want to know?

3) RSPRO has gigabit, cambria only 100mbit ports
RSPRO is not industrial grade

4) we are preparing new builds real soon. With the acutal we are happy, but we are testing setups right now.
R52NH does not fit on all ports on the cambria.
Also you should plan a big powersupply with at least
24V

5. N has no benefit but the mimo!

they say the rs is great cause its cheap!

cheap != good

and maybe u should think about the laguna platform (2x600mhz, 1000BT, etc)

Thank you for the reply Sash. What I ment on my question number 2 its simple, right now I have a rb433 running xr2 cards and Mikrotik ROS software, I just cant handle more then 18 simultaneous users and peak traffic of 1.8mbtis,latency goes up to 3000ms. The curious think is that the cpu use its not even 10%, if I get a cambria or even an alix geode and run DD-WRT on it, will I be able to handle this number os users? Is cambria a industrial product? I need a powerfull outdoor ap, please help Sash!

Nice. Im sorry Sash I wasnt clear enough. I mean that with 20 users connected I cant push more then 2MB from my wireless card.If my traffic is aroud 400k-800k then latency is low, more then that latency goes up do 3000 as I sad before. I just cant push more then 2mb on my card. I have like 20 users each with 300k if 5 of them are downloading, good bye for my router. Im running only B btw, otherwise everything just get worst and worst.
