Anyone tried the Tomato VPN version? Because it says this on the build type page:

Linksys WRT160N v3 R2 Yes No NoUSB-Std (4MB flash) only

I'm currently on the NoUSB-Std, and it runs very smooth, but I'd like to have some VPN going...

I switched to Tomato VPN and it's running smoothly. I saw that warning too, but thought it was worth a try for the VPN.

Sure hope the gurus can fix DDWRT for the 160N cause I use it for all my other routers and love it.

Dear Friends,

I have 2 wrt160n, one is V3.0 with SVN revision 15943M NEWD-2 K2.6 Eko and the other is V1.0 with SVN revision 15230M NEWD Eko, everything is working great thanks to all of you guys! I just have one question.

I use the led script to change the amber light to blue in WRT160N V3.0 and I want to do the same thing in WRT160N V1.0, could someone tell me the led script to change amber light to blue in V1.0, thanks in advance.

i need to know if these routers can be loaded with NEWD-2_K2.6_openvpn_small.bin? (after initial flashing, of course). some customers waiting on this info, don't want them bricking their routers (:

Yup, as covered in the first post, anything K2.6 and under ~3.7mb should work fine. Smile

I have a WRT160n v3 and am wondering what is the best build to install? A link would be much appreciated, I'm terrible at finding these custom firmware.

I've been using 16773 for a few months now on my wrt160nv3 (configured as a wireless repeater) and havent had any problems. Wireless is reliable, and speeds are around the 20mbit mark (bearing in mind I live in an apartment block with 32 other adjacent AP's, and a SNR of ~22).

This is the link to the firmware I am running: http://dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/downloads/others/eko/V24-K26/svn16773/dd-wrt.v24-16773_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini_wrt160nv3.bin

Flashed with this build and configure the router as repeater bridge. The wifi part does not work. Keep saying no internet access. But work when connected with Ethernet cable. Very strange indeed.

I just flashed this build tonight, . So far, this build has come up beautifully for me. I am using a WRT160N v3 setup in 'repeater bridge' mode. Very happy so far with the bring up!

Hello folks, one quick question, the light above the wireless sync button is now permanently on, orange or redish, is this normal?

Yes.. assuming your router is set up as a router, that means it has a wan connection.

if you like, you can turn the orange light blue:

@osmosis: thanks for your digest! After reading this today, I switched to build 15693 for my Linksys WRT160N v3. Plus I applied some of the tweaks that you mentioned, for stabilizing the wireless signal.

I'll let you know what my experiences are, after a month or so. Smile

OK, it's been almost a month now, since I installed build 15693 on my Linksys WRT160N v3.

So here's the report: no problems whatsoever! Excellent performance. Smile
