Any word from the devs whether work has started on the 1043nd special? If so, I'd be happy to make a donation to get things moving, as I'm sure would many other folks...Thanks for all the hard work!

So, based on Sash's comments, I gather that "special features" for 1043nd and/or any other Atheros based routers have been put on hold as they will be incorporated into future Atheros builds, however...

What are the chances of just a stable build for this and/or all Atheros-based units, where one would enjoy solid functioning of all basic features, such as:

1. Solid, uninterrupted, full-bandwidth wireless functionality
2. Full throughput wired routing
3. OpenVPN functionality
4. DynDns functionality
5. Fully functioning wireless activity LED's
6. BONUS - Fully supported USB functionality

Now, I know one can find a build in which each of these features work, but in all my searching, I haven't come across a build where ALL of these features work. Am I wrong?

My interest is in the 1043nd in particular, though I'm sure a stable build is in the interest of the entire community. Based on the flurry of recent activity and builds, I hope a stable build is in the works. I, and my aging WRT310n, thank you for your efforts!

I use DD-WRT on my 1043ND and have tested a lot of versions. I use security cameras around my garden which sends files to the router wireless, a harddrive is attached to the router which receives the files.

From DD-WRT version 16994 and upwards have a problem with the NAS-options. It looks like new functions has arrived and has overwrite the old ones. Inside the shared network drive it looks different and the security cameras can't upload any files.

The correct NAS-options exists in version 16214 until the version before 16994. Please restore the coming versions NAS-options to the options which exists in the very stable version 16214.

Thanks for your work!

I am running DD-WRT firmware version V24-sp2 08-07-10 std build 14896 as only version from the dd-wrt router database site.
However I see there is missing about the wireless - channel width, as should also have 40MHz.
The 20MHz just gives to max 150Mbps on wireless while the 40MHz will give 300Mbps.
Where can I find latest version. ON this forum seems have lack of download firmware site of latest versions.
I just had to use that firmware for using VPN.
Confused

You can find the latest builds in the dd-wrt file server, link in in my sig under DD-WRT Builds.

I have upgraded to build 19519, however there is no 40MHz on wireless channel width, which it should add on it for this router. Just only says Full (20MHz) , Half (10MHz) , Quarter (5MHz). As half & quarter are not needed. It should be 20MHz & 40 MHz to choose.

I am using 2 TL-WR1043ND v1.8 routers for my setup and seeing problems with all the 2012 builds that I have tried including the most recent r19519.

My setup:
Router1 connected to cable modem and has only 1 SSID with NG-Mixed. Also runs DHCP server, DNSmasq
Router2 connects to Router1 as client and has a VAP with different SSID(for guests with WPA2 personal mixed, TKIP+AES), DHCP server with different network, DNSmasq.

Following observations are with r19519 but I had similar issues with most 2012 firmwares I tried.

What works:
1) Setting up router2 as client with NG-Mixed and dynamic 20/40Mhz.

What does not work:
1) Assigning WAN port to switch does not work on Router2. I am not sure if assigning WAN port to vlan1 is same as assigning it to switch but I also tried that under Setup>Basic Setup>Networking and it didn't work either with or without reboot.
2) Router2 unable to get IP from Router1 on WAN interface when I add VAP. Sys-info shows channel "unknown" for client as well as VAP. (Works fine with no VAP and just client configured, but I start seeing RX errors after VAP is removed and going back to client mode only)

Is there a stable version that dont have these issues? I am also willing to try out new firmwares to get this working.

I have the same version the NH2. Be it brainslayer or eko. This applies
