so i picked up an E1500 at the local computer shop used for $5. came home to find out that its not on the list of supported routers . so i'm here to help anyway i can. I've disassembled the device and found the j tag spot. but i'm a bit fuzzy on how to build the cable. and i have no Parallel port on my machine. so any helpful advice on how to get past this hurdle and i'll be glad to start helping out

See the wiki on jtag, but you will need a computer with a parallel port. Look into serial recovery as well to find out info on a serial cable. _________________ SIG:

I just picked up a refurb e2500 from Amazon to replace an old d-link that is about to die. Received it today, and much to my dismay, there is no dd-wrt or tomato firmware available for it.
Reading through these threads seems like all files are available to the devs to get it done. Is there anything I can do to help? I run dd-wrt on a WRT54G in bridge mode in the basement, but I would love to place that upstairs and the e2500 downstairs (where most of our wireless devices are), but would need a bridge or extender mode a la dd-wrt.
If any devs are reading this, it would be greatly appreciated (any build for the e2500), and a donation would surely be headed your way!
hi guys, i currently have a linksys wrt-400N (dual band, no gigabit) with DD-WRT.. i consistenly top out at about 4MB/sec (~35mbit) using both 2.4ghz and 5ghz at a range of 20-30ft. i would like to have something closer to 10MB/sec (75-100mbit) if at all possible... i dont care about wired/gigabit since all my clients are wireless only. would either the e4200 or e3200 give me a significant boost in wireless performance (both 2.4ghz and 5ghz)? is the e3200 really just a rebranded e3000 - asking since i dont think an e3000 will have a wireless advantage over my 400n.

the 3200 is NOT a rebranded 3000. It has a 500mhz processor as well as high power amps on the xmit and receive amps on the recieve end of the radio(s).
atm, the 5ghz radio isn't working with dd-wrt. I expect that to change soon.
The 4200 also has amps on the radios and both radios are supported by dd-wrt. However, linksys just started selling the V2 (E4200_V2) and that router will not be supported by dd-wrt due to its marvel chipset. So if you can't wait for full 3200 support, make sure you get a 4200_V1 _________________ [Moderator Deleted]
What made you think so, have you seen someone saying that they have actually done the donation? _________________ Kernel panic: Aiee, killing interrupt handler!
so its been well over a year and no word on the
E1200 v1
or any of the other versions mentioned here?
i thought people have donated the E1200 already.
we know it uses Broadcom
I was going to port the E1200 as its the cheapest cisco router at walmart, however there are now 2 versions, version 1 and v2, and there is talk about a v3 coming soon.... not so sure on this one yet.
