Seems like my router has started to reboot randombly. I have noticed its getting very hot, but its allways been like this, and all worked fine before. Was running @ 400MHZ. So now i tried to go down to 300mhz to see if the problem will be solved.

Im running the recommended build. tx power only 20mW sense i dont need the range.

Any suggestions?

Are you using the stock power adapters? If so I would look for minimum 2A power adapter if you're overclocking for 320/e2000 (and minimum 3A for 610/e3000).

I did not know that was needed. But i have now actually underclocked the router, so i guess that is not the issue here? The problem persist even below stock speed Sad

Yes, very low free nvram space will reboot a router.

Ok, so what should i do to free up RAM? Should i go back to a smaller build? Im using the "mega" now, but i dont really need it. Will it help?

Switching to a smaller build will help somewhat. Turning off traff will also help.

Consider in general that every character you input into the Web GUI, all the enable/disables, static leases, UPnP rules, port forwards... All that must add up to less than 32K. Not a lot of space, is it? So... If you don't need it, remove it. Make any startup scripts as short as possible, use port range forwards instead of individual ports, etc.

Certainly before you spend any money on power supplies, you definitely need to address your nvram shortage.

I'd bet a quarter of all the problems people have boil down to nvram overflow. It's becomIng a real problem. This guy has 2K left of 32K. Traff can eat that up quickly and the router will crash, and sometimes it will require reflashing.

Ok, so i have switched to VPN-SMALL, it's got all the features i need any way. So this is my nvram now: size: 18387 bytes (14381 left)

But seems that i have 18k in total and not 32k?

Any way..the bad news, is that its still rebooting, like every 10 - 60 min. Did hard reset twice with telnet already, did not help.

I have switched back to my DIR-635 for now, the WRT320N is totally useless atm. Dont know what happened to it, maybe the heat got to it? I have had it for over a year. I feel like i have tried everything, hard reset, different firmwares etc. Not to mention it was running lika 30days straight before all this started. Maybe the hardware got damaged?

I would still try another power adaptor with the correct polarity with regulated 12 volt but with higher current rating like 2A.
