Just bought an RT-AC68U and I'm looking for a stable build. http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Asus_RT-AC68U suggests 29193. Just looking for confirmation.

For BS builds yes. Also with that router you would be better on Kong builds. Try 29155, 29165 or 29200(this last one has 4.4 kernel as BS builds and have read that is a good one but haven't tried personally )

You want the ARM folder (as thats what the 68U is). In there is a supported models file that mentions your model and the build you need, dd-wrt.v24-K3_AC_ARM_STD.bin.

Use the dd-wrt.v24-K3_AC_ARM_STD.bin build that is in that folder, and flash it from webgui within the BS build, reset and start over after flash.

Thanks cybernook. I've got it. Cross fingers that everything is good to go!

running kong now. Looks good and is functioning better than the previous BS build.

If you do run into any problems with a current kernel 4.4.x build, id recommend going back to 28647 for a BS build or any Kong with a 3.x kernel.

If you have problems with that build try one of 3 I mentioned from Kong. Download them from here:

Anyone else notice their 5ghz indicator light isn't working on the router but appears to be broadcasting?

Have had that problem since I first put dd-wrt on the router more than a year ago. Have no problem with the missing indicator as long as broadcasting works

Are you satisfied with this asus?
With dd-wrt, the 5ghz performance are fine?
Any suggested last build version?
Thanks

It's very solid with the Kong build I'm using.

_STD.BIN

If you are going from stock firmware you cannot flash this directly. You need to download a Brainslayer build for the AC68U first, ending with trx, which may be flashed over the original ASUS firmware. When that's done you can flash the bin-file from the GUI.

Good Luck!
