I searched and didnt find anything. I probably missed it. Is there a thread that explains how to install dd-wrt on a netgear r7000? I see the sticky thread, but I didnt see the steps to install

Flash the router using the r7000.chk file from here http://www.desipro.de/ddwrt/K3-AC-Arm/
After logging in, select factory reset and after it reboots, configure it.
When Kong releases new firmware, they will be in that folder. Once on did-wrt use the arm.std.bin for upgrades.

thank you kind sir for the info. I assume I use the stock firmware "upgrade" selection to flash that?

I saw a mention of having to telnet into the router and run a "erase nvram" command. Is that something that has to happen, or is that something completely unrelated to flashing KONG firmware onto a stock router?

Just use the restore to factory default. If you have troubles after that, we will try the erase nvram.
