You can recover it during that window by using a real tftp upload app. Dont use the Linksys Crap app (tftp2) it times out too soon.
Use windows tftp or pumpkin or linux
Brainslayers Builds are busted for flashing as they are too big for some reason for the partitions.
Once you see the ping for ttl=100 that is your gate to flash.
using windows to PUT the file doesn't work and using the server process doesn't work either once you've tried to flash one of these defective files

spamming xeon? i don't see any spam here just discussion - the problems and solutions are all over the place - i had to go back and cover a lot of ground - it's not possible to do that in a single post so be realistic --- now if you consider some of it superfluous then i'd look at your post as being in that category - all the best mate

Completely unnecessary to bug thread watchers with 5 emails in a row. Your call. _________________ R6400v2 (boardID:30) - Kong 36480 running since 03/09/18 - (AP - DNSMasq - AdBlocking - QoS) R7800 - BS 31924 running since 05/26/17 - (AP - OpenVPN Client - DNSMasq - AdBlocking - QoS) R7000 - BS 30771 running since 12/16/16 - (AP - NAS - FTP - SMB - OpenVPN Server - Transmission - DDNS - DNSMasq - AdBlocking - QoS) R6250 - BS 29193 running since 03/20/16 - (AP - NAS - FTP - SMB - DNSMasq - AdBlocking)
My R6250 is now running the latest V1.0.4.8_10.1.13 stock firmware. Hopefully the R6250 bricking versions of DD-WRT will no longer be released....
Keep dreaming. It has been released for a year now _________________ R6400v2 (boardID:30) - Kong 36480 running since 03/09/18 - (AP - DNSMasq - AdBlocking - QoS) R7800 - BS 31924 running since 05/26/17 - (AP - OpenVPN Client - DNSMasq - AdBlocking - QoS) R7000 - BS 30771 running since 12/16/16 - (AP - NAS - FTP - SMB - OpenVPN Server - Transmission - DDNS - DNSMasq - AdBlocking - QoS) R6250 - BS 29193 running since 03/20/16 - (AP - NAS - FTP - SMB - DNSMasq - AdBlocking)
Right, so there is no reason for LemmingFactory to remain on netgear firmware.
Yeap that's true. Besides DDWRT unlocks the 2nd core on the R6250.
Well... apart from the bricking issue, I found that DD-WRT's throughput was significantly lower than with stock firmware, at least with versions from 2016. IIRC, I read something about how stock firmware has some processing optimizations which are not available for use in DD-WRT, dual core or not. I like some of the added features, but reliability is much more important. The stock firmware works very well, aside from not allowing full transmit power in the lower 5GHz channels. And did Netgear not enable the 2nd core in later firmware?

Which were your measurements on the performance comparison?
Stability speaking, mine from the signature is over year without a reboot.
About transmit power, almost none country allows you full power on lowest 5ghz channels.
2nd core on Netgear, have checked the firmware change logs and couldn't see anything related to it nor enabling access to full 128MB RAM. _________________ R6400v2 (boardID:30) - Kong 36480 running since 03/09/18 - (AP - DNSMasq - AdBlocking - QoS) R7800 - BS 31924 running since 05/26/17 - (AP - OpenVPN Client - DNSMasq - AdBlocking - QoS) R7000 - BS 30771 running since 12/16/16 - (AP - NAS - FTP - SMB - OpenVPN Server - Transmission - DDNS - DNSMasq - AdBlocking - QoS) R6250 - BS 29193 running since 03/20/16 - (AP - NAS - FTP - SMB - DNSMasq - AdBlocking)

IIRC, LAN transfer rates were significantly lower with DD-WRT (e.g. file copying). However, I won't be doing any more testing at least for a while... other things on the go plus I don't feel like trying another flash for a while after the last one put the router out of commission for a couple of months.
The FCC raised transmit power a while ago but the stock firmware does not comply with the changes. I had a DIR-850L not long ago and it got a boost on the lower channels with new firmware. IIRC, DD-WRT also has higher TX power on the lower channels with the R6250... though I'm using 153 so it doesn't matter right now.
But the bottom line is that, at least for now, I'll stick with the stock firmware because I did not see much advantage plus there are some disadvantages with DD-WRT and I'm not interested in going through another de-bricking exercise.
