I can see why you use the same IPs for both as I have seen tutorials here instructing that. Myself I have always used 192.168.1.1 for the AP and 1.2 for the client. I assign different SSIDs names as well. That's what I would suggest first. Match both security modes (WPA2/AES) and use N/G mixed.
I have a Belkin F7D4302, with a factory firmware, like an AP on my network. In a client bridge mode I have a TL-WR841N with a dd-wrt firmware. I can reach the internet with this configuration.
Is it possible to put a WR841N (Atheros) as a client bridge of a Belkin (Broadcom) ?
Hi,
I've spent lot of hours trying to make client bridge (routed) mode to work without luck. Client mode instead works at first try solid as a rock working both wired and wirelessly. You have to set a different subnet on each router. If it is not an issue for you i suggest you to try it.
Best regards
