Hello I have a r9000 that seems to only want to go to 23dBm on the 5ghz band at Channel40 + 42 (5200 MHz VHT80) No matter what i set the tx power to. On the 2.4ghz side i get to 30dBm at 1 + 5 (2412 MHz HT40). I have a large house and am trying to get as much range as possible especially on the 5ghz side. iwconfig eth0 txpower does not seem to change the tx ether.

I live in the US not near any military sites or weather radars so I should be able to push out more power.

Any other tips to increase wifi range? The device i mostly have problems with is my old Iphone 5s, hopefully i will be getting a iphone x soon.

Use channel 149 or higher for more power.

Try set ack timing 0 and reboot router...might work better for some devices.

Yes, this is one of the severe limitation, at least while using 160Mhz bandwidth.
The only valid combination for (80Mhz + 80Mhz ) is 138 +144 +155, so forces it to 23dBm, even if you set it to 30dBm

So no way for one 160ghz band on dd-wrt?

Yes, currently not possible to have 30dBm set for 160Mhz Bandwidth. However BS can change this.

Hopefully he can. What channel do I have to use to get 160mhz working at all?
