Router: Trendnet TEW-828DRU
Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r31277

Manufacturer specs says operating temp should be:
•0 – 40 °C (32 – 104 °F)

The DD-WRT status page says:

CPU Temperature CPU 83.6 °C / Not available

That's 182.48°F boys and girls

Either:

1) The router is running WAY too hot
2) The UI has a bug that is reporting the wrong temp.

Any ideas/advice to verify this finding is appreciated....

your router has BCM4709A0, they tend to run hot, i have several routers with BCM4709A0 and BCM4708, both chipsets run at around 75 C. if AC is turned on in the room (router faces AC), temperature goes down to around 66 C.

Operating temp means environment, the ddwrt reading is from right inside the SoC die, which are normal.

Thank you so much for your replies. I was concerned about the temps because I know bad things ensue when electronics get too toasty. Perhaps I'll pick a cooler environment.
