Noob help pls - Correct firmware for Linksys E1700

Apologies for the noobish nature of my question. (Hopefully I've at least asked in the correct section.)

I have a Linksys E1700 with "DD-WRT v24-sp2 (11/03/14) std - build 25251" and have been trying to troubleshoot some strange behaviors.

Do I have the correct firmware version? Is there a better one to use? I don't use the E1700's radio, so wireless issues aren't a great concern to me. (LAN port #2 would be nice.)

Having read through a dozen threads about E1700 firmware difficulties, I'm thoroughly confused as to what version should be used. Thank you.

There is no reports that this build work on that model. It may brick it. The is very little activity in the Ralink Forum.

Thank you for the reply. But I'm afraid that now I am even more confused.

I can see numerous downloads for Linksys E1700 - how does one check to see if they work or not?

I don't understand why this free, community supported work-in-progress project doesn't have full time premium support. Embarassed

Actually, I never realized how many different versions of routers there were out there.

I'm thinking my best bet for this older E1700 router is to stay with 25251

Hi, cdent1,
I just saw your question. I bought a E1700 recently. Installed DD-WRT as follows:
- flashed the firmware to Linksys v1.0.00.081
- then flashed the firmware to factory-to-ddwrt.bin
- finally flashed the firmware to linksys-e1700-webflash.bin using the beta version on 2015-01-20 (r25974).

DD-WRT is working. LAN port 2 is not working, as noted by many others. Hope this helps.
