I upgrade my WRT160NL-Router to the latest firmware "v24 PreSP2 [Beta] Build: 21061" from 2017-09-07 and then i didn't have Internet for a day. The reason was that my Internet Provider automatically blocked my router because of the change of its MAC-address, which was changed to 00:11:22:33:44:56 in the upgrade process.
My internet provider accepted my new MAC-address, when i called, so i got my internet back. So i just wanted to inform "you" about this probably unintended behavior.

You're saying that you installed 21061? You meant "latest from the Router Database"? That date isn't the build date, cuz that build is from 3-25-2013. The latest build is here:
ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/betas/2017/10-10-2017-r33492/linksys_wrt160nl/
...but if you were to update, you need to research New Build threads to make sure there isn't an issue, which many recent builds have, except generally for 33006, 33215, and 33492 (if the size isn't too big like it is for most Broadcom k3.x 8MB models).
So this MAC issue is interesting, but first...a few things:
1. The WRT160NL is an Atheros router, so you're in the wrong forum. But since you're here...
2. You could have simply cloned the MAC in the GUI and set to what is printed on the label, rather than calling the ISP.
3. Did you do a reset after flashing a different build, and manually set back up? At least for Broadcom, MAC address is set by the the bootloader (CFE), unless the nvram parameter for aforesaid cloning is set. It appears this is your issue, unless something is -really- eftup, or your bootloader default was modified; I'm not familiar w/ Atheros devices. _________________ #NAT/SFE/CTF: limited speed w/ DD#Repeater issues#DD-WRT info: FAQ, Builds, Types, Modes, Changes, Demo#

Ok, so i updated the DD-WRT version to rev33525, which seems to work fine, and cloned the MAC address to the old one. This changed the WAN MAC but didn't change the LAN MAC, which is now (and was since the last update two weeks ago) an easy to remember 00:11:22:33:44:55.
Is there any point in changing the LAN MAC as well?
And if yes, how?

You should be able to change the nvram parameter, if you can't fix the default used by the bootloader. In telnet/ssh or GUI Admin->Commands run `nvram show|grep -e mac -e addr`. Then change it with:
nvram set {parameter}={value}
nvram commit && reboot

The only way to really change the MAC address is by connecting a serial cable (USB-TTL 3.3V) and writing in a new MAC address at the correct location, more than likely you accidentally overwrote it when upgrading. I have done it before, but I don't remember the commands off had.
The only time I did it was on a Broadcom device and it required updating a caldata parition. _________________ Before asking a question on the forums, update dd-wrt: Where do I download firmware? I suggest reading it all.
