FCC-ID: Q87-E2500V2

I followed this guide to flash my E2500 but only got the error "upgrade failed" after 9-15%.
So the problem is that dd-wrt build for v2 is incompatible with v2.1 hardware.
Is there any chance to get a build for 2.1?

It is an old topic, but i found a solution.

You can use firmware from e2500 wiki page with little modification. You must change first four bytes from "E25X" to "25RU" with Hex editor.
With this modified bin file I flashed my router and now all works.

Indeed, it appears the E2500 v2.1 is called the "E2500-RU". Where/how did you acquire this device?

A couple bits of info I found:
Linksys LLC wrote:
Product: Linksys E2500-RU
Classification: Firmware Release History
Release Date: Nov 20, 2013

Note: This firmware is only compatible with hardware version 2.1 (v2.1), but not with hardware version 1 and 2. To find out the hardware version of your router, look up the 4th and the 5th character (read from the left) of the product serial number. If they read "21" (e.g. xxx21xxxxxxxxx), the hardware version of your router is 2.1.

Firmware 2.1.00 (build 10)
- Initial release
There is actually a previous DD reference to this here. And the following makes it sound like, at least at one time or for a certain region (Russia?), it shared f/w w/ the v3 (even though the v3 has 25V3 in its f/w header):

I live in Ukraine and bought this router in our online shop called Rozetka. Device page haven't any information about hardware revision (also it haven't an english version Very Happy).

I reflash it because the stock firmware started to glitch. It drops packets and after some time after reboot (around 1-2 hours) blocked all outside traffic. Ping to the router via ethernet cable was ~7-10ms.

I saw mention on one of the support pages for a E2500-EN, so it would make sense the -RU is a Russia-region model. Thanks for the info; I have updated the wiki. What exact build did you flash?

I used "E2500 Trailed Mini Initial Flash Build" (dd-wrt.v24-21061_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini-e2500) from the wiki page.

Also, thank you for the wiki update.

Thank you very much!

Bought it in Russia, which confirms the guess about a regional model.
