do you use QoS? i am seeing similar problem but no one else is reporting it. Buffer bloat also shot through the roof. i wonder if it is related
I use QoS (HTB, FQ_CODEL) and I'm getting great speeds and SUPER low (no red spikes) bufferbloat with this build. Much better than the last from what I've tested so far. I've only had this build on for ~2 hours though for what it's worth. On a R7000
Thanks. I re-flashed this build on my R7000 just to retest, and got the same good result on hard wire.
Would you mind checking for bufferbloat and speed on WIFI also? It seems the bad reading only showed up for me on WIFI with this build (previous build, b33770, tested A/A+ even on WIFI).
Router: Netgear R7000
Firmware: v3.0-r34015M kongac (12/09/17)
Kernel: Linux 4.4.104 #480 SMP Sat Dec 9 00:51:32 CET 2017 armv7l
Status: Up and running for just under 30 hours
Reset: Soft boot before and after ddup
Errors: None
Upgraded via 'ddup --flash-latest' from r33770M. No 'erase nvram' this time.
I'm running with SFE disabled for testing. Speed tests seem a bit low, but for practical purposes I see no significant differences in throughput on my 100/10 cable connection.
The temperatures are good: CPU 56.4 °C / WL0 47.0 °C / WL1 48.0 °C (The R7000 is wall-mounted.)
Current basic R7000 setup (subject to change of course):
- SFE - Off
- Static WAN IP
- LAN DHCP Enabled
- IPv4 only
- No additional VLANS
- Encrypt DNS disabled
- Wireless: Regulatory Domain = UNITED_STATES, wl0 NG-Mixed (ch. 7 + 5), wl1 NA-Mixed (ch. 161 + 159), AES
- SNMP enabled, SSH enabled, Telnet disabled
- Firewall enabled, Log Level high
- Syslog: remote to Logentries. klogd: disabled.
- USB Flashdrive mounted as JFFS, adblocking via pixelserv
- NO: ttraf, VNC, Zabbix, VPN, Radius, OpenVPN
- NO: Port forwarding, UPnP, DMZ, QoS
- NO: Samba, CIFS, JFFS2, miniDLNA, Entware, Optware _________________ Netgear R7000: v3.0-r54248 std (11/29/23)

My setup is very simple: 2.4 GHz only + some physically connected via unmanaged switch + QoS for buffer bloat (WTB/FQ_CODEL). No USB, no VPN, no entware, etc.
Will post back to update after a few days.

Router: R7000
Status: Working
Reset: No
Errors: None
Upgraded from previous release. Using features static wan, dhcp lan, qos, port forwarding, sshd, ntp, dnscrypt, link aggregation and both radios.
* The previous firmware locked up for me about a week ago after trying to change some settings in webif.
* QOS is giving A's on this build for me. In the past I had to sometimes disable/renable qos for it kick in so for people reporting QOS issues give that a try.

Router Model: Linksys EA6700
Kernel Version: 4.4.104 #480 SMP Sat Dec 9 00:51:32 CET 2017 armv7l
Upgraded: from 11/15 kongac build, mtd write method (ddup downloads the update, begins the flash process, but then reboots almost immediately, without flashing).
Reset: erase nvram, hand-key settings as new
Status: Running over a week, everything functional
Errors:
* Asterisk: No way to make it run (first time attempted w/ Kong build). Binaries seem fine, but several critical files are missing. Workaround is installing full package manager, either the onboard, Entware, or I like Optware-ng.
* No transmissiond. (When did it go away?) Same workaround works.
Thanks to devs, and to the community. Many are blessed by your work.
EDIT
Found some odd behavior:
Mounted partitions on external usb3 flash drive self-unmount intermittently, or fail to mount without hard reset.
Intermittent VPN anomalies cause a break in the connection (traffic only, not client or server).
Couldn't find any revealing indicators leading to a cause.
Flashed back to r33675M-11/03/17 and everything solid and working as normal.
EDIT 2
NM! Odd behavior returned, even with earlier release. VPN problem was on server end and flash drive issue appears to be hardware-related. So no bug here after all.
EDIT 3
Last one for sure! There definitely is a difference in mounting ext4 fs on usb3 port. See EDIT/UPDATE section on this post. Due to the hacked -- ahem, "custom" -- CFE in these routers, there may be no fault in the OS. Or it may be an adverse interaction between the two, don't know. Just documenting here for completeness. _________________ My old self (phonetics-R-fun)

Transmission is not present in Kong's builds since long time now. _________________ R6400v2 (boardID:30) - Kong 36480 running since 03/09/18 - (AP - DNSMasq - AdBlocking - QoS) R7800 - BS 31924 running since 05/26/17 - (AP - OpenVPN Client - DNSMasq - AdBlocking - QoS) R7000 - BS 30771 running since 12/16/16 - (AP - NAS - FTP - SMB - OpenVPN Server - Transmission - DDNS - DNSMasq - AdBlocking - QoS) R6250 - BS 29193 running since 03/20/16 - (AP - NAS - FTP - SMB - DNSMasq - AdBlocking)
WAN PPPoE doesn't work on Netgear R7000 on r34015M kongac (12/09/17) (static IP and Automatic configuration - DHCP is OK) speed with SFE (and cpu 1400Mhz) Super Fast
flashed back to 33675M (and Kong 30965M) and got same result PPPoE doesn't work.
Reset by telnet mtd -r erase nvram but nothing helped
