After having some changes in stability over the last few months I noticed that the syslog in both the wrt1900ac v1 and the 66u was reporting events over and over like the sample below...

user.info : Maybe upnp had died, we need to re-exec it
user.info : Maybe igmprt had died, we need to re-exec it

I attempt a manual fix by issuing the following command, The upnp process is started. The webGUI shows activity is reported but the process dies after a short while once again. ~120seconds

root@asus66u:~# /usr/sbin/upnp -D -W vlan1

root@asus66u:~# ps | grep upnp
14700 root 1792 S /usr/sbin/upnp -D -W vlan1
14702 root 1160 R grep upnp

Does anyone happen to recall which build# the upnp feature functioned as expected with the asus 66u?

I've rolled back as far as build 33215 and now the wrt1900 now has a stable upnp once again but still no luck with the asus 66u. As a note my Assus 87u has working upnp in the latest build 34578.
