Why are there "stickies" that are grossly outdated? Namely right here in this sub-forum the last post is SIX years old and the thread is locked.
Also, why aren't the changelog "stickies" updated anymore? Days & weeks are spent on updating firmware, but there is NOTHING that is easily accessed and easy to understand and available to tell one what was or wasn't done in each version.
All of that only leads to more confusion and wasted time for users. Can someone PLEASE fix these?

I get most of that, BUT my point is; just how many minutes does it take one to type a few sentences summing up the changes in a new F/W version
vs
the days or weeks it takes to actually re-write that F/W?
They have to document the changes or how would the writer/coder remember what was done when and where? Heck, his notes has to be at least a full page vs a shortened list.
Example (the 2nd last entry in the Atheros changelog thread that is locked):

Actually, their forum software is decent, far better than many 'newer' versions. At least one can post attachments and they aren't postage stamp size either.
Before anyone suggests that SVN site which would re-enforce what I just stated, look at the endless text in just one entry compared to the example above. And that 'assumes' that one can decipher all or any of that.
As far as outdated stickies; how long does it take to 'un-stick' them??
The last post (not the OP) on these is over 7 years old. One thread is 11 years old. There are others, but I don't want to be labeled as a 'nitpicker'.
Right off the bat, the jtag sticky is still helpful. Why should it be unstickied? Just because it's old? The info in there is still good for those wanting to use jtag. _________________ I am far from a guru, I'm barely a novice.
The sticky date is the date it was created. Information can be updated regularly, and the date of the sticky will not change. You cannot tell the date of the contents by the date of the sticky. _________________ SIG:

I was basing the date on the date of the last post in the thread, not the original post.
I realize if the post is edited, that date doesn't change, but it would say it was edited, correct?

Mods can edit posts without an 'edited' showing. _________________ SIG:

That kinda defeats the purpose of even showing a date since no one knows for sure if the post was ever updated.
Especially on posts that can be time sensitive with
'dated', or should I state outdated info.
This is funny as I was actually defending the forums software when another member complained about it. Other than the date issue (whch can be a issue), the rest for the most part is fine. There are plenty of others that are 10x worse.
