I have a working ddrwrt configuration in gateway mode. I use a router side VPN and it has been great. I just got much faster internet so put in a pfsense firewall that now does the VPN client side configuration.

That said, everything works fine it looks like this.

inet-->pfsense public-->pfsense-->pfsense private 192.168.1.1-->pubic wwrt 192.168.1.2-->ddwrt-->ddwrt private 10.1.10.x

I have a static route on pfsense for 10.1.10.0/24 192.168.1.2

When I switch ddwrt to router mode things break. Are there any additional steps I need to take beyond:

Switching to router mode and adding "iptables -I FORWARD -j ACCEPT"

I was using this as a reference but it seems I am missing some obvious operation on DDWRT to allow the internal traffic out.

https://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Linking_Subnets_with_Static_Routes

I am able to ping from pfsense into the 10.1.10.x space successfully, but not able to ping out to pfsense.

Thanks,

John

eibgrad you were exactly right. I hadn't created a NAT mapping to pick up the VPN tunnel. Thank you! Very Happy
