There have been no changes in the wireless driver since krack fix (which only applies to client mode anyways), last change in wireless driver for the R8000 radios was in Sept 2017.

@<kong>
Are you using the same drivers as in Netgear OEM? Reason I ask is on my Netgear r8000 I get wifi cell call drops if I use image r35030m, but if I use OEM version, V1.0.4.12_10.1.46, I can talk for over 1 hour with no drops in the same location. Could not talk longer then 5 or 10 minutes with your DD-WRT build. Had the same issue with r34790M.

No idea what revision curent netgear fw is on, "wl ver" will tell you.

@Kong
Finally was successful in being able to telnet to the r8000. Results of the wl ver are:
# wl ver
7.14 RC43.5
wl0: Mar 10 2017 19:37:18 version 7.10.274.3.REBASE.R493518 (r674436) FWID 01-925ac899
#
The r8000 is running current OEM firmware, version
V1.0.4.12_10.1.46

Not sure how this lines up with the driver version you are using in the DD-WRT build.

Hey there,

Having just spent a weekend with no internet connection I noticed that DHCP stopped working (or possibly DNSMasq in general).

DHCP seemed to be OK if the router was started WITH an internet connection (ie tethered phone) but if this was removed and then the watchdog service subsequently rebooted the router then the router never got to a point where the web interface was usable or DNS/DHCP was working.

Router is a R7000 (35030M) with OpenVPN server running, a few port forwards, /Opt mounted to a USB and not much else.

Maybe is something particular to my setup to cause this - can someone confirm this is a bug, or confirm this doesn't happen with their setup.

I'm a bit confused as to the reproduction steps. I can tell you that with this build, I've rebooted the modem first, rebooted the router, then brought back the modem after the router came back up. No DHCP issues, and I have more than 50 devices on this R8000.

4 days with this build on my R8000.
Basic settings with just an extender.
Everything smooth so far.
Previous connection issues with the extender seem to be fixed.
Thank you Kong!

Router: R6300v2

And it would throw this at any attempt to get a WAN IP. It did say in the webif that it had a ip. I then tried to roll back to an older build which yielded the same error. My next step was to attempt to restore a backup of the configuration I had, which did not restore. Instead, the web interface would simply crash.

My next step was to flash to this build again, and reset nvram. That time around, dhcpd started working as expected. I then figured maybe something had corrupted somewhere along the way with my nvram config. The strange part was, despite restore failing, it would show some settings in the webif as if they did restore Shocked . At that point I simply said forget it, and after flashing the latest and resetting reconfigured my settings by hand. Now up and running, things look good so far...

However,I would like to know what caused my old configuration to suddenly freak out and break like it did....Its not fun to reconfigure my router by hand. Between numerous forwards, openvpn, samba, and bridging subnets I do not have a straightforward setup like some here do.

The recommendation is to always reset between builds and put settings in manually Sad

However it is not always necessary, but unfortunately you do not know that beforehand.

I had the same experience not with this build but with 34320. So what most of us do is exactly what you did, upgrade without reset and only reset when encountering problems. Once in a while this is necessary Sad

I understand that 🙂. The part that got weird was after despite rolling back to the build everything functioned on, and doing a reset, the backup file I had would still not restore properly... That part I'd like to figure out, if anything for knowledge of what went wrong...

I had once similar errors. Re-initializing /jffs partition did the job.

After 8 days up, I had to reboot the R8000 to recover the connection with my EX2700 Netgear extender.

Still the same as with previous builds, but up time is quite longer...

Router Model: ASUS RT-AC68U
Firmware Version: Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r35030M kongac (02/19/1Cool
Previous: 34900M
Reset: No
Status: Operational.

Today i've changed my isp, and have 280/280Mbit connection.

With SFE off i'm getting about 180/180Mbit with this build.
So i've turned on SFE and got 280/280 WAN speed, but with SFE on QoS is not working properly. Is there any chance that this will be fixed?

I installed dd-wrt.v24-K3_AC_ARM_AC5300.bin on an ASUS RT-AC88U.

Router Model: ASUS RT-AC88U
Firmware Version: Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r35030M kongac (02/19/1Cool
Reset: No
Status: Ports 1-5 are swapped around (Port 1=5,2=4,3=3,4=2,5=1)

Is there a way to switch the ports around by configuration?

I've just upgraded with a clean install, manually setting up everything to ensure that it's not due to a dirty flash, and the OpenVPN Client doesn't appear to be working.

I read in another thread to ensure that ipv6 is enabled; I've enabled it and rebooted since enabling, but nothing changed in the OpenVPN Status. I'm not extremely familiar with linux, but I found this in another thread:
Code:
ps | grep openvpn

And it returns this:
Code:
8628 root      1192 S    grep openvpn

I see that many of you have it working--do you have any tips to help me get it going? It worked on an older build (DD-WRT v3.0-r27525M (07/15/15) kongac) without a hitch. Because I've never used commands in the 8 years of using DDWRT, I'm entirely unfamiliar with "just run it as a script", and downloading a purevpn script zip file (I don't use purevpn) for guidance left me with more questions than answers, due the abundance of extra things I'm unfamiliar with.

An important note is that I don't usually run VPN. If I need it, I login to my router, enable it (it uses policy based routing), and disable it when I'm finished. I can't have it running all the time.

Also, my wifi downstream speed dropped from over 200mbps to about 33mbps, yet the "signal quality" in DD-WRT reports as ridiculously (and unbelievably) good compared to before. Very strange.

In the attachment, I did NOT white out anything for privacy reasons...it's just absolutely blank, as shown.
