|
I followed the directions to set up a NAS via my router's USB port using SAMBA and my workgroup on Windows using automatic mount and no run-on-mount scripts. At first I didn't see DD-WRT appear in Network on my machine, rebooted the router, and then it did appear but when trying to connect to it it would hang for a couple seconds then I would get an error saying a connection could not be found. I tried this using a public share and setting up a username and password for the share, neither worked. This was with my MBR/NTFS 2TB external HDD so I grabbed a flash drive and tried it in NTFS, EXFAT, and FAT32 to no avail. I started looking around trying to figure out what I could do and ended up turning on JFFS, which I don't know if I need. I looked at the wiki but to completely frank I'm not very knowledgeable about doing things via command line nor linux. I could work it out with a bit of effort but I don't know where to start to troubleshoot or if the steps listed are even relevant anymore since so much of the info on the wiki refers to v2.4 and I don't want to waste a bunch of time trying to do something that I'm not sure how to do that I don't know will even fix my problem. Just trying to get pointed in the right direction to try and get this working as I don't know if this is a network configuration issue, a problem with DD-WRT, or something else. I would really appreciate any help in troubleshooting this issue.
