Router: Asus RT-N66U
Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r35667 big ( 04/04/18 )
Kernel: forgot to uname -a while logged in :|
Previous: DD-WRT v3.0-r33555 mega (10/20/17)
Reset: telnet in, erased nvram, manually flashed, erased nvram, rebooted.

Status: Wired devices working, a speedtest smashed against the imposed cap by our cable ISP, almost all functions seemed to work and all pages took configurations (didn't physically check LEDs though).

Errors: No wireless devices able to see Mixed G/N & Mixed APs or connect. The status page showing that both 2.4Ghz & 5Ghz radios were turned off, despite being configured in the Wireless tab - the 5Ghz didn't allow for choosing the channel, only Auto. Erasing the nvram didn't change any behaviour, and as this is our main router I reverted back to r33555 due to it being rock solid since install.

Oddly, despite erasing the nvram on both sides of the flash back, I was no longer offered the option to choose a channel for the 5Ghz on the older build (r33555) - I had to import the saved nvram.bin backup to get back VT40 in the upper range/channel selection to work. Seems *really* weird that the same goobled setting in the new build could persist multiple nvram erases and reboots, but perhaps it needed a physical power cycle too? Definitely didn't imagine it, alas.

For now, due to need, this build isn't quite there for a simple AP with nothing fancy configured on this router, at least for me.

I'm hoping this router will eventually become something in a upcoming release as we all know it has been somewhat of a let down.

Anyways

I copied n pasted this so if u want more info just ask if u need something.

Srry hope I didn't break any rules in this post I'm still a n00b n just want to better things for this router with any and all feedback.

Router Name-DD-WRT
Router Model-Linksys WRT3200ACM
Firmware Version- DD-WRT v3.0-r35667 std (04/04/1Cool
Kernel Version-Linux 4.9.92 #124 SMP PREEMPT Mon Apr 2 01:55:33 CEST 2018 armv7l

Previous: can't remember but will look further if needed
Mode/Status: AP
Just have the 2.5ghz channel enabled not the 3rd one or first one
Reset: No
Issues/Errors: none so far , I will not though I have no internet connection I am just using router currently for a wireless home network nothing more . I will be looking to configure this with other devices in my network to allow the TV's and other devices in my home to share media from my main desktop PC filled with hard drives aka media center setup .

May also be looking to setup my Android phones hotspot connection with router to supply all devices in home with media and internet when I choose . Would like to maybe to throttle the speeds though if possible with this version update to keep my mobile data usage to a min if you feel meh lol Wink

After reviewing all the settings on each page i have noticed that there is one change from all previous builds in which you see the MAC address for each port and correct me if i am wrong but i haven't seen that setting in previous builds....see attachment, sorry for the size.

Going back to r34760 until next build.

I have fund no new issues with this release. Everything I user is working fine.

Router NameDIR890L
Router ModelDlink-DIR890L
Firmware Version DD-WRT v3.0-r35667 std (04/04/1Cool
Kernel VersionLinux 4.4.126 #2878 SMP Wed Apr 4 07:33:42 CEST 2018 armv7l

The reason I put this on was to try and rectify another issue. When shortcut forwarding is disabled, I slowly get an internet speed degradation - starts as 98/38 and steadily drops until the next morning I an around 7/3 - then by the next morning, the router is not responsive at all. The issue is NOT there when SFE is on (the default). I sort of need SFE off for yamon support however. Reset to factory, added 15 or so reserved IP/s, no other changes, this is repeatable all the time. If anyone has any ideas ?

Reverted back to previous build, that was working perfect with e4200

What build are you using? I'm just getting set up for the first time and trying to figure out which build to use.

use trail build mini first flash than i recoomend 03-26-2018-r35531/ big build from Broadcom k26 as it works perfect with e4200

Don't use 35667 as e4200 v1 will run into wireless problems

Regards

I might give that a try later, I put an old build (v3.0-r30880 mega 11/14/16) on and am not having any issues. My needs are pretty simple (has to connect to another router, run openVPN, and basic functions with setting IP and DNS.

I'm very new to this, so just happy to have everything running smoothly, and I'm honestly not sure why some settings are the way they are... but it's working.

Much appreciated.
