Hi.

Have problem to upgrade FW on this router. I am using
RT-AC68U Firmware - Webflash image asus_rt-ac68u-firmware.trx 2017-09-07 26,30 MB and it gives me this error:

Original fw -> https://i.imgur.com/oCZliMi.jpg
Trying to upgrade-> https://i.imgur.com/dOwAfV9.jpg

So what could be the problem?

Regards.

Are you flashing from the Web-UI? In order to flash DDWRT, you have to use recovery mode to flash successfully.

Here you go... Smile

Code:

https://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Asus_RT-AC68U

I dowloaded the specific build for the AC68u, (.trx file) entered recovery mode, cleared NVRAM, flashed, rebooted. Made a minimal config, then flashed the most recent kong build, 35550M via the DDWRT administration tab, rebooted again. Then I set everything up.

You have to go back to an older build such as 3.0.0.4.380 or 3.0.0.4.376 to flash from the GUI.

Managed to get the ddwrt on this router. But... It was completely useless cause it was limiting my dl speed for bout 200Mbit ( from total 500Mbit). So I installed back the original FW and it works just great. Just need to adapt to new look...

THX for all the help. Wink

Try turning on sfe shortcut forwarding engine. You should get better speeds.

I have a R6400 which has the same hardware. Without SFE around 250 Mb/s with SFE on almost 600 Mb/s
