Hi,

First time trying to install this firmware and i have a few questions, hope you guys can help me

My router information is this:
Firmware Version: 2.0.07 build 2 Jan 7, 2015

And im following this guide:
https://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Linksys_E1200v2

It says that i have to install this file first:

ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/betas/2012/07-20-12-r19519/broadcom_K26/dd-wrt.v24-19519_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini-e1200v2.bin

And this file second:

ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/betas/2016/04-25-2016-r29519/broadcom_K3X/dd-wrt.v24-29519_NEWD-2_K3.x_mega-nv64k.bin

But the problem is that if i go to the router database here:

https://www.dd-wrt.com/site/support/router-database

And search for my device V2, those files are different from the guide before.

The first one (mini) is this:

https://www.dd-wrt.com/routerdb/de/download/Linksys/E1200/V2.0/dd-wrt.v24-21061_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini-nv64k.bin/3930

And the second one (mega) is this:

https://www.dd-wrt.com/routerdb/de/download/Linksys/E1200/V2.0/dd-wrt.v24-21061_NEWD-2_K2.6_mega-nv64k.bin/3931

So i have in the guide these files:

1.- dd-wrt.v24-19519_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini-e1200v2.bin
2.- dd-wrt.v24-29519_NEWD-2_K3.x_mega-nv64k.bin

But in the download page i have these:

1.- dd-wrt.v24-21061_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini-nv64k.bin/3930
2.- dd-wrt.v24-21061_NEWD-2_K2.6_mega-nv64k.bin/3931

Which ones should i download?

Im pretty sure that this is a new question since its my first time doing this, sorry about that.

Thanks!

Disregard the router database. It is out of date. Make sure you have V2, not V1 and follow the wiki instructions. Read the peacock thread also.

EDIT: Don't expect much out of this unit, I am using mine for a boat anchor.
Good luck!

Hi, thanks for your answer.

I really dont expect much, but im having a few problems with it:

1-Wifi dying and not accepting new connection atleast twice a day, so i have to turn off/on the device
2-Every device that connects to the router are listed under the DHCP table with the same name as my computer and wrong interfaces

I dont know if it is worth installing DDWRT since i will not use alot of its options, but if get a those two points fixed and a better connection i think its worth it, but i dont know. What do you recommend?

Also, the wiki mentions something about LAN ports not working after reset sometimes, but i cant follow the fix for it because i cant find the bridge options in my router.

Thanks again

The issues you listed are on OEM or DD f/w? What exactly is your current setup? And this is a v2?

OEM and is a V2 i posted my issue on the Linksys forum with no answer, im posting screens of my config and the problem. You will see in the screen alot of "Netbook" names, but those are mobile phones.

192.168.1.20 is a Nanostation M5

Thanks!

So OEM f/w is over 3yrs old I see. I would absolutely follow the v2 wiki and put a k3x build on it. Upgrade to k3x 30006, reset, manually set up, and try it for a while. What might you use it for? Latest few builds have wireless issues but you could try 35531 or 34311. Read the new build threads for E1200 reports.

FWIW. I have a e1200v2. Its currently running pretty solid with an older BS build 30949 k3 mega. Definitely not a powerhouse, but is at least N and can load mega on it. The DDWRT build will give you much more insight into what the firmware is doing over OEM.
