Hi gang,
I just upgraded my router to a newer one leaving the WNDR3700v1 no longer in use.
What I would like to do is have the satellite receiver connected to the LAN port and have the WNDR3700 connect to my new ASUS router on the 2.4ghz band. I have no idea how I can do this.
Got any ideas?
The first thing that I knew that I had to do was put a different SSID on both of them.
I guess changing the Wireless Mode to 'client bridge (routed)' would be a step in the right direction but how will the router connect to my Wifi network?
I am running DD-WRT v3.0-r33679 std (11/04/17).

Something like this will work great but the steps don't really match my router.

Primary: ASUS RT-AC1900P (Asuswrt-merlin)
Secondary: WNDR3700v1 (dd-wrt)

I have no idea what I am doing. If someone can help me out, that'll be great.

Yes, I've seen that one. Maybe I missed something.

Okay, I got it to work. The routers link together no trouble at all, the Wifi has internet access but the LAN ports on the secondary router will give me internet access for less than a minute but then it stops and gives me 'host is taking too long to respond' and 'destination unreachable' errors.
I've posted my issue in that sticky but I don't think anyone goes in there.
