Ok. Now smaller pictures (both in kb and somewhat in pixels)
This is a message from telnet daemon, something is connecting to it, e.g. you are redirecting traffic towards the router and you have privoxy running. Happens for instance if you have adblock entries, that redirect traffic to the router, then you surf the net and the browser will connect to telnet ssh etc.,
Example in dnsmasq:
address=/redbutton.de/127.0.0.1
now with your webbrowser, that is configured to use privoxy access redbutton.de, browser connects to privoxy, privoxy will connect to 127.0.0.1 which is your router, and therefore it connects to the webif:-)

I realized later that most of the logs are related to telnet "pings". But it also presents the conundrum. The issue is there, but the logs are empty.
I've been back on stock Netgear for a while now with no issues.
(Besides not being able to join a LAN port to the guest WLAN, and missing ddns)
Has there been any developments vis-a-vis newer drivers from Netgear or perhaps
DNSmasq/guest-WiFi?
Just wanted to share that I'm STILL having this issue. I'll go through the process of clearing NVRAM, installing latest version, setting up manually, etc this evening.
@linust, since I forgot to reply to your previous question, no I don't have a guest or separate network in place. Just one.
This is a screenshot of my logs right before it crashes:
