Got my AC1900P a few weeks ago, flashed dd-wrt directly without problems. However, the Astrill applet is not working with some strange errors. After some attempts to fix it, I finally gave up and wanted to revert it back to the stock firmware, and that's actually my nightmare starts: I've tried every single method I can find to restore it but eventually it will reboot to the dd-wrt interface. I am desperate now, any help is much appreciated!

Model: Asus RT-AC1900P
Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r35681(04/06/18)
Revert Methods tried: Basically most (if not all) of the combinations of reset methods (Web GUI reset, 30-30-30 reset, WPS and reset button reset) and firmware upgrade methods (Web GUI, Asus firmware restoration tool, miniCFE web interface)
Put it in recovery mode and use tftpd32 to upload the firmware, the cfe mini web server or the asus restoration tool.
One of the three should work. _________________ I am far from a guru, I'm barely a novice.
Thanks for the information. I've tried this method twice: one from the Windows Virtual machine inside my Ubuntu laptop, another from my friend's Window 10 desktop, both rebooted to dd-wrt

I've tried "cfe mini web" and "asus restoration tool" without luck. I am going to try the ftp method and I assume you need to either ssh or telnet in after uploaded the firmware and execute some command to flash it?
Btw I have no tftpd32 because my daily drive is an Ubuntu laptop but that should make no difference if I can upload it via any ftp client.
If you are in the USA and want to pay two way shipping, I can try for you. I also have everything for serial recovery.
After using tftp to upload the firmware, you don't need any commands. It should program itself and reboot. _________________ I am far from a guru, I'm barely a novice.

Try powering off the router, holding the WPS button down, then power on until the power light flashes. Then release WPS, and remove power. Hold the reset button down, then power on until power light is flashing steadily. (about 10 seconds) Give your PC a static IP of 192.168.1.10
Try to access the CFE page at 192.168.1.1 Clear NVRAM there, then flash the Asus firmware .trx file. Once the upload completes, the system will reboot. Set your PC back to DHCP, reboot the router again, and you should be good. At least this method worked for me on a few TM-AC1900 converts. _________________ ASUS RT-AC3100 AP Merlin 386.12_4

That is the same procedure already outlined in the link he said he followed. Lol _________________ I am far from a guru, I'm barely a novice.

You could use the Firmware Restoration method as detailed in the manual of RT-AC1900P, Section 5.2 at page 86.

Did you download and decompress the ZIP file containing Asus' firmware (RT-AC1900P_3.0.0.4_384_20648-g21e3702.trx)?
