Router: Netgear WNDR3700v1
Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r33679 (11/04/17)
File used: wndr3700-factory_NA.img
Upgrade r33679 -> r35770
Result: Failed.
Once it started to upgrade the firmware, it immediately rebooted back to the previous version.
I guess you took the wrong file. Use wndr3700-webflash.bin for web upgrade.
Look for the last post that may help you finding a solution.
Thank you, I saw this post before. But this is the error in the FW, because all are worked before. Here we are speaking about last release errors. How to get it working in other ways - that another question. But I say THANKS to you absolutely sincerely.
Observation: Love the firmware, and all the comunity surrounding it. Very interested in helping in any way that I could. A big thanks for all of your work ! _________________ Today, is allways a Good day!

Yeah, that didn't work either. The end result was the power LED kept blinking green and the Web UI wasn't responding to 192.168.1.1 also, none of the other LED's where on.
Do you think I bricked it??
Used TFTP to restore to the original stock firmware for now. Will reinstall dd-wrt r3379.

I haven’t had such an issue with my devices so far. I have been flashing them with almost each version since March 2016. I never had to do a reset and kept my settings with each upgrade.
You could try to flash your device with consecutive versions one after the other beginning with r33679 up to the latest one …
But I’m not sure if the region of your device could even play a role for your issue. My devices are from Europe while yours seems to be from North America (as you talk about the NA image file). So, my experiences do not necessarily apply to your device, although both are v1.

Flashed successfully on Buffalo WZR-600-DHP but no WAN access. LAN connections working fine. Reflashed r35681 and all is well. Retried two more times. Same result. No internet with r35770.
Reset: telnet, erase nvram/nvram erase, wget firmware from dd-wrt ftp, write firmware_etc_etc linux, erase nvram/nvram erase, reboot
Status: Operational.
