Will "activation required" hardware always require activation, or do models go free at some point in time? Like, after the hardware becomes obsolete.
For example the Senao / Engenius ECB9500 is a wireless bridge released in 2010, last sold as far as I can tell, in early 2012.
To anyone who knows, can you shed some light? Thanks!
