Issue accessing Internet through dd-wrt or open wrt

Could someone help me, please? I'm having a problem with my new WRT1900ACS V2. The issue is no matter what I try it appears as if the Internet is being blocked unless I use the official linksys firmware.
I am unable to access the Internet at all with open source softwares this leads me to belive that my original ISP modem/router is being blocked by the linksys and so the Internet ismt being shared properly. But I have no idea how to resolve this.
All settings are default and I haven't messed with anything

Is anyone able to suggest anything.

I sometimes have to reboot my modem when I introduce a different router with different firmware in the mix.
