I'm having issues with my ping spiking when playing a game and watching twitch streams at the same time.
My internet is more than capable of handling this, but I'll be playing League of Legends and my ping (which is usually around 38ms stable in game) will spike up by 30-40ms very often if I also have a twitch stream open (no matter what quality I pick on the stream, even 160p).
On League, pink spikes like that completely mess with your ability to play so it's really annoying.
I can play fine without the ping spikes if I'm only playing the game though with no stream open.
I get around 180+ download and around 12 upload, I have my QoS settings on 160000 kbps down and 10000 up. WAN, HTB, FQ_CODEL are selected as well.
I should also mention I'm playing on wifi, but I've been able to do this without the ping spikes in the past, but I've changed my firmware version and settings at some point so maybe something is different now?
I've left most of my settings untouched from defaults apart from QoS, anybody have any ideas what I can do to try to fix this issue?
If any additional info is needed, let me know!

You can try these:
- reset config
- install Kong's build r35900M
- use HFSC and FQ_Codel for QoS

Thanks for the reply, I was running r33620M which came out in October, cause it seemed like the most stable out of the builds I tried. I'll try out the build you mentioned and report back later!

I'm on DD-WRT v3.0-r34175M kongat (12/22/17) on the R7800 and its been pretty stable and the 5 Ghz performance has been terrific for me. Somehow, the 2.4 Ghz performance is pretty bad. I see good download speeds of around 80 Mbps, but the upload speeds are in Kbps or sometimes 0. Attached are my settings. Anyone else facing similar issues, and if yes, any idea how to fix it? Thanks

Smaller picture please. Also, you should set your 2.4ghz to 20mhz ch width. Solves troubles.

After testing things out a bit the past couple of days, it seems like switching to r35900m and resetting the settings has fixed the problem. Didn't play that much really to be 100% sure but things look promising so far!

Just upgraded my R7800 to r35900 (5/8/2017) from r33770 (11/2017), and now I see that there's a new test build, 5/18/2017, available.

Any idea what the build number for this new build is, so I can look at the differences between the 5/8 and 5/18 build? I don't want to just upgrade to it to find out...But maybe I need to. Since I don't see a new thread for it on the forum, I'm curious what's going on with it *smile*.

Thanks.

I have kong’s build version 31221 since Feb last Year. I’m planning to upgrade to latest version but I’m not sure which version to install. I only care about QoS with this router! Please let me know which build is the best for this router. Thank you

So, I'm not super experienced with verifying files with PGP, but I've gone to this directory:

http://www.desipro.de/ddwrt/K3-AC-IPQ806X/

And downloaded these files:

ddwrt-netgear-R7800.bin
ddwrt-netgear-R7800.bin.md5
ddwrt-netgear-R7800.bin.sig
R7800-factory-to-ddwrt.img

My question is how can I verify my download? Wouldn't I need Kong's public key? Where can I find that? Thanks Very Happy

those are only if you update via telnet/ssh
log in CLI and type:
ddup --flash-remote http://www.desipro.de/ddwrt/K3-AC-IPQ806X/Test/ddwrt-netgear-R7800.bin

this way to flash your unit checks for sig and verify's it...
