EA8500
r35965M kongat [05/17/18]
Just went to 50/50 fiber rather than 20/20 and changed QOS to HFSC FQ_Codel 49768/49768

All seems ok.

Congrats on the upgrade!! Another amazing build since 35900M. The webui is lightning fast. Now if SFE can work with PBE and QoS download it'll be perfect Cool

@MRJCD-Might you be able to check a wired connection and how it performs on bufferbloat?

I'm curious if your EA8500 has the same issues as mine on wired vs wifi QOS performance on this latest build.

My wired results:

My Wifi results:

I'm baffled and wish I knew what else to try and tweak...
I attempted moving the WAN to the other core to help try and alleviate the possible CPU bottleneck, that didn't work at all in helping QOS.

Is there any way to check if QOS is being applied to the LAN ports, to me it seems like download QOS is totally being ignored.

Not sure what your problem might be. You can always lower the QOS (maybe half) DL & UL to see what happens. If that is working then increase till it breaks.

Could be many things.......when I fisrt run speedtest on this tablet it showed 82 mbps upload....dont know what was going then....likey ISP stuff beyound my control.

Back up your settings, reset to defaults/nvram and configure only QoS and retest your wired. I suspect a bad config somewhere or old nvram.

Been there, done that, didn't help.

@mrjcd- Playing with QOS D/L & U/L speeds does nothing.

Errors: Power switch to reset after firmware upload - otherwise all seems well.

@msoengineer
- your issues sound almost exactly like I was having with my wzr-1750dhp. Thought it was a bcm vs ath problem, but maybe not. Just reconfigured the wzr from scratch and it seemed to help.

Model: R7800
Reset: No
Kernel: 3.18.109
Build: 35965
Previous Build: 35900

Had 2.4Ghz wifi instability, wifi would cut out for 5+ seconds. Reverted to build 35900, no issues noticed on that build so far.

Thanks for your hard work Kong.

Ridiculous good build! Very Happy The best build on 3.18 kernel up to date. Previous r35900M looked like it had some wonky wifi.
Thanks Devs!
