Question with this dual partition router...

So right now both partitions have stock on it....

I want DD WRT on it but need to keep one partition with stock....

So , it says when upgrading firmware it puts it on the "other partition" ..that's fine

I start with "Factory to DD WRT" .....It puts in other partition

When that boots , I then install DDWRT BIN and that writes it to the other partition...

Now I lost both stock....

Is this so and how can I resolve keeping one as stock?

Topic moved to correct forum. Please read DD-WRT Installation, Upgrade & Basic Setup–Cliff Notes. Keeping one partition stock is not required or absolutely necessary. In fact, it's completely moot.

Initial flash file should be factory-to-ddwrt.bin for 12-29-2017-r34311 and then you can flash the alternate partition with the ddwrt-linksys-wrt3200acm-webflash.bin or upgrade both partitions to current release OR one to current release, and one to previous release.
