I flashed the WRT54GL with dd-wrt.v23_mini_generic SP2 and not detect any
neighbor's wireless networks. Why?

I have a brand new WRT54GL with Linksys firmware working before conec
ted to my DSL modem;that's mean the routers was working perfectly right.
I flashed with the dd-wrt.v23_mini_generic SP2 and not detect any wireless.

I have 2 neighbor's wireless networks unsecurity available because my
laptop detected and right now I am conected to one of them, anyway I
tested and conected to both unsecurity wireless with not any problem.

I followed all the step on WRT54G v4 Installation Tutorial and after
flashed need to install Putty for reboot the router and get the web
info; after that need to do a hard reset for work username and password.

Now I am into the web page, the firmware looks like working fine but
not detect the 2 wireless conection avalilable.

looking for help. Thank.

Yes, I did a site survey and show absolutely nothing.

Also the neighbors are my friends and they know That I am doing.
Also I have my own DSL connection with Bellsouth that I paid.

That I am doing is only a hobby for learning and fun.

Thanks for any help.

something similar happened to me on my wrt54gl 1.1.

I flashed it with 2.3sp2 standard for the 54g and it worked beautifully for right around a week. After that first week, the wireless completely died very suddenly (as in it was working in the morning before I had left the house and when I got home I couldn't get a wireless connection and the site survey was showing a blank).

Anyways, I reflashed it back to factory firmware and sent it back for a replacement, but I'm hesitant to put DD on the new one until I can convince myself that that isn't what killed the first router. (and before anyone asks, no I didn't set the radio wattage insanely high. In fact I left if at the default 28mW)

Suddenly, right now found signal and did the setup as client and everything is working right.
Let's see what happen later. Anyway I am thinking the problem is a bug with the v23 SP2 .
flash

Tomorrow I will flash it with the v24 beta version, some reports is more stable than v23.

In my Moto WR850G v2, happen the same with dd-wrt v23 sp2 work fine in a week, i was using my network and saw more 8 wireless AP´s but after a week the site survey didint find any wireless...
I sent back my router, and with the new one work fine in v23 sp2.

i think WIVIZ, get better results than the site survey...i can make it work in v23 sp2, but everytime i restart my router, WIVIZ dont work.
