Hello everybody
As a new dd-wrt user, I bought a brand new ASUS RT-N10 because the router database says it is supported. The revision is H/W D1.
I downloaded the firmware listed in the database (dd-wrt.v24-21061_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini_RT-N10.trx), the device is now bricked (most of the leds are on, with low light, and nothing happens if a eth cable is plugged). Of course I tried the 30/30/30 thing, it didn't work.
I managed to get a new router (same model, and probably same revision: I'll now tomorrow when I'll get it).
I have read a few topics here, and it looks like I'm not the only one facing this problem.
1/ It appears to me that the router DB should be updated, at least in order to warn people before they buy or brick (I may be wrong, it's only a suggestion)
2/ The provious message in this thread links to a dd-wrt build that is supposed to work more or less, but it is not clear if it for RT-N10 rev. HW D1, or for the RT-N10+ rev D1. Can someone clarify this ?
Any other advice will be welcome !
Regards and thanks for the good work

Again, I have to emphasized that this is not my personal experience. I read this from a Chinese forum in Taiwan. Another guy tried a newer verson and claimed that the old problems are still there (PPPOE not working, Port 4 and WAN port interchanged)

http://www.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/downloads/others/eko/BrainSlayer-V24-preSP2/2013/05-27-2013-r21676/broadcom_K26/dd-wrt.v24-21676_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini_RT-N10PLUSD1.trx

The screenshot indicated that this is a RT-N10+ Rev D1:

Thank you Maxilogic for these informations.
I have been unable to open the screenshot, it complains about the referrer. So to be crystal clear: is this build supposed to work with the RT-N10 D1, or is it only for the RT-N10+ D1 ?
If yes it would fix my issue, as I don't need PPPOE and can deal with the port change (I just need vlan support and WiFi / LAN / WAN routing).
By the way: emphasis understood, I won't blame you if something goes wrong Smile

I am afraid this is only for RT-N10+ D1, the author of the original thread didn't mentioned anything about RT-N10 D1.

Thanks for the answer.

I received today a new RT-N10 D1 and can confirm that the firmware shown on the database page for this device bricks it. I tried today with TFTP and got a nice (second) brick.
As I said before, it would be good to update the DB page before others brick the devices they bought because they read it was supported...

Is there anyone can explain how to Unbricking RT-N10+ v.D1 to me. I brought new one(RT-N10+ D1) and bricked it already.

I've successful upgraded it to this version >> http://download1.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/downloads/betas/2015/03-19-2015-r26490/broadcom_K26/dd-wrt.v24-26490_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini_RT-N10PLUSD1.trx

After login to DD-WRT admin page and configure it to be a routers, assign name of router to "Asus RT-N10PLUS D1" then restart it. Power LED flash a few second and it turn off by itself. I've tried to press power button, it doesn't response. All leds still off. Seem it brick at all. T_T

Thanks, that worked for me. The only difference was that I kept the reset button pressed for 40 sec. and Internet Explorer did not connect to the Asus recovery page so I uploaded the firmware through Firefox. After that I made the update with IExplorer.

Thanks a bunch. It works well for me .
Once you get the router into firmware recovery mode, you can flash the latest dd-wrt (mine was http://ftp.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/downloads/betas/2015/04-09-2015-r26653/broadcom_K26/dd-wrt.v24-26653_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini_RT-N10PLUSD1.trx ).
The dd-wrt on this router is a little buggy, and there is no noticeable performance improvement, however it's nice to have dd-wrt as always. Very Happy

After a few days of trial and error, I find dd-wrt very buggy on this router, even with the latest release.

LAN and WAN ports are interchanged, multiple SSID does not work most of the time, unable to access web interface from wired connection, and unable to reset configuration (some will be reset, such as username and password).

So many weird issues and I have to revert back to Asus firmware.

I have RT-N10 H/W Ver.: D1 also. And i got the same ... leds turned on at 10-20% and tried several way to unbrick it but no luck.
Is there any chance that i can fix it or can i throw it away already? Smile

Thanks in advance
