Hello

Is it possible to just power-up the USB ports on non-usb variations of dd-wrt for example v24-sp2 (12/22/14) std - build 25697 on Asus RT-AC56U

I simply need 5V power for ventilation and I would have to go through the upgrade stuff which I need to schedule ahead since I'm not the only user and don't have 100% ownership of the broadband around here. I just noticed it's going quite hot during a hot summer day and doesn't feel like it should be that hot on the outside case.

I checked with a multimeter and no voltage on both usb 2 and 3.

idk im just stupid why i didn't notice it before for more than an hour, my version has usb support and yes I had it disabled ... it think i didn't look at the tabs I only checked on the first page on Services

anyway, maybe this can still help others in that situation so I don't mind if you guys answer it disregarding this.

Now actually, now that i figured out voltage is output when USB core support is enabled, it's actually better this way since I can turn it off and it would be very practical if I can use a cron job scheduler to schedule when USB Core Support is turned off or on

Since I never did cron jobs before and I'm not sure where the to-go place/community for that is, just asking for some pointers please.

This would be a good start: http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/CRON
And there are probably lots of posts in the forums for various Cron uses.
