I updated to the 27360 Mega version using samandiriel's article for guidance (thanks for that!).
* The ext3 kernel module doesn't appear to be installed. Not there in lsmod list and /lib/modules/3.10.80/etx3.ko isn't there (ext2.ko is though). This is preventing me from mounting an external hd with ext3 fs.
* The Wan MAC did not restore from the backup bin file. Just re-cloned from my PC and was fine but I wish that was saved/restored.
I'll try the Big version to see if that solves the ext3 issue unless someone has other suggestions. Otherwise I like the improvements to the interface and everything seems to be working smoothly.
Thanks, nice to get a compliment! Please keep me posted or comment on the post if you turn up more infonuggets that would be helpful to add to it. _________________ Tyler Style

I've posted a how-to article based on my own recent experience installing DD-WRT on the ASUS RT-N66U. I'd appreciate any feedback on it, especially if I've made any errors. Many thanks!
Thanks - had some server issues for a couple days but back up now _________________ Tyler Style

Has anyone got Privoxy and Transparent mode working? I had it working in the past but some time between upgrading builds it seems to be broken, I have a topic about it here:
Running 26138M, recommended build and Privoxy works but doesn't appear to redirect all traffic on port 80 like its supposed to, manually specifying the proxy in a browser works and the config page shows up, just doesn't work transparently.
I can see its not working, because I'll do a check on domains and Privoxy will tell me what rules will be applied. The output doesn't match what happens on a client. _________________ James

I have the 12/03/14 big 25544 build on my rt-n66u, and have had issues for several months with a ping "loss" to my cable modem, i had assumed for MONTHS now that it was a ping loss to my gateway, however just the other day i started pinging the modem itself and realized it also happened between my router/modem..
What is the best "suggested" build by others, i see a few saying the most recent breaks the 5ghz wireless speeds (prevents top speed).. I wanted to flash a new build in case THAT was the issue, but honestly i didn't see anyone reporting that issue with that build...
I use Build 26138 from the Wiki since any weeks.
now i see there ara many new builds, the the newest is 27506, but there are no file for my RT-N66U only for RT-AC66U.
Can i use this build also on my RT-N66U?

Find the original firmware extremely slow.
So i test DDWRT on my RT-U66N.
I am no expert so I remember something
Is ddwrt same stable as the original firmware?
Have DDWRT all the functions which also has the original firmware?
Would ddwrt drawbacks?

No, DD-WRT is much slower than stock firmware (at least in respect to WAN to LAN transfer). K3.x builds are slower than K26 builds.
Generally, DD-WRT has more advanced functions than stock firmware, so people around here call DD-WRT a Cadillac, not a Porsche.
If you want speed, choose Asuswrt Merlin and if you want speed + range, choose John's fork of Asuswrt Merlin. _________________ 2 times APU2 Opnsense 21.1 with Sensei
