Device: RT-68ACU Client Mode = RT-68ACU (DD-WRT v3.0-r27343)

When I reboot the former T-Mobile Cellspot, sometimes it boots up to the image above. Clicking on the reboot link does not always result in DD-WRT bootup. Sometimes it does this when 'applying' new settings.

QUESTIONS
=========
1) Why does it do this without being prompted?
2) What can be done to ensure that DD-WRT always boots?

This device is going into an environment where non-technical people reside... In the event of a power failure, it is critical that the device boot to dd-wrt.

Not sure that I've EVER seen this on any firmware on this unit. Have you reflashed the unit and also cleared NVRAM completely?

I think I would reflash the unit's firmware.

Is this something that just started happening or is it something that happened from the start?

Does it do this on other firmwares (Tomato, AsusWRT-Merlin, etc?)

This is normal operation and why you can't uncheck "boot wait" in the administration page.

This is a very nice feature to have as if you happen to brick the firmware (soft-brick) you can unbrick the router by uploading a new firmware file between boot. If the upgrade server finds nothing to be uploaded, It should then boot to DD-wrt after 30 sec. or so.

Its the reason i picked up one of these for cheap instead of buying something like the r7000. Made to screw up and still function.
