Hello all,

Basic question: would installing dd-wrt give me any benefit on throughput or diagnosis for my setup below?

I have 2x engenious eoc-2610 devices a distance of 800-900ft apart in bridge mode.
The signal strength is -42dBm and noise level is -95dBm
I have tried all settings from channels to enabling superG, and increasing signal strength and only get a throughput of 8-12Mbps no matter what.
Would any option if they were flashed with DD-WRT allow me to possibly get any more throughput?

If not anyone have a good suggestion on a home solution devices that would give close to the theoretical 54Mbps? Am Do you think i am reaching the limits of the 802.11g FCC regulation?

thanks in advance.

If you don't already have, i would recommend directional grid antennas first.

ya there is clean LOS.
I got tired of it last night and took them down and put them within 10 ft of each other and played with all the available settings that i could. I believe at least one of the devices is bad. I have found some other topics around the net on these devices and they seem to have issues with throughput and becoming unresponsive.(both issues i have had)
*should have figured when their last firmware update added an auto reboot "feature" Smile

One final question.
If i look for a replacement:anyone have a quick device recommendation that might be better for a wireless bridge to get closer to 54Mbps?
(may not be the correct forum to ask that sorry if it isn't)

thanks,
