Anyone else had issues with the network going down after using the Feb 26th DD-WRT file? At first everything was working with no issues, now the network will randomly go down for hours at a time (if I'm away from home at work), but a simple restart fixes it for a while. When I first put DD-WRT on there I did the 30-30-30 reset just to be safe.

i downloaded the dd-wrt in this thread and its pretty nice, ive only used it for one thing though. im using it for the wireless client, i needed a way to recieve a connection rather than to send one out, and ive only had one issue.
in the beginning when i was setting it up, i set the 2.4 ghz to client as well as the 5 ghz and that created a conflict with the router. it ended up being non responsive to wireless signals and to wired connections. i had to do a 30/30/30 on it and that reset everything, this time i decided to leave the 5 ghz at ap and disable the broadcast for it and left the 2.4 ghz on client. i set everything up for receiving a signal, typed in all the addresses in the fields, typed in the ssid name for the router i needed to connect to, and i had to save, then apply, then unplug and plug back in to get everything to work.
its working flawlessly as a wireless adapter. im just hoping more work gets put into this firmware since its still pretty buggy, other than the bugs its a 5 star firmware for me and what im using it for!
i have a feeling that the signal is lower than it should be because it seems a tad slower than it should be, but im not worried about it. i seen people having wireless range issues on here but as for recieving a signal i have had no issues out of it to my knowledge!

I was wondering if anyone has supplied one of these for official support yet. I have a new one in the box just sitting here collecting dust I could send in.
Also, to clarify you're setting up the 2.4GHz band in Client (rather than Client Bridge) mode?
the only thing i had to do with the dns is type in the original dns settings from the router i am connecting to, and yes i am using the 2.4 ghz band on "client" only. and for further clarification, the attachment in this post is a pic of my configuration
Thanks, yes, I meant the 3rd party package mentioned earlier in this thread.
MyOpenRouter was down a couple of days ago, and then the next day dd-wrt.com was down, which was a little bit odd.
Anyways, I successfully got DD-WRT running on my Netgear WNDR3400v2 by:
- Performing a 30-30-30 reset
- Logging into the Netgear firmware at 192.168.1.1 (default = admin/password)
- Upgrading the firmware to the chk file from the third party (ensuring to do this in Safari or Internet Explorer, not Firefox)
- Performing another 30-30-30 reset after the DD-WRT firmware was loaded.
Everything works great, the last thing that I have to test is OpenVPN.
I'll check it out within the next couple of days and report back, as I know it was mentioned earlier in this thread that OpenVPN was untested in this build.

You can report back at the same place where you downloaded the build, it is also the same place you go to when you have problem with the build and need help.

Sure.
Given the fact that this particular build is discussed extensively in this thread, it seemed like a logical discourse to provide feedback on it within this thread as an informal form of documentation.
That's why I mentioned it and explicitly clarified that it had been created by a third party.
I understand the potential issues with an unsupported build and I'll be sure to report back with additional feedback elsewhere.
Sorry if I posted this to the wrong area, but I didn't want to start a new thread. I'm pretty new to this wireless repeating business.
I'm running DD-WRT v24-sp2 (02/26/13) mega on this WNDR3400V2 router and I'm having an issue with the repeater bridge function. I have it all up and running, but if I add wireless security to the virtual interface of wl0, the router no longer has web access and I must manually set my computer IP to access the DD-WRT portal (still no web access). I have tried to match my AP security settings exactly, tried different security settings, all to no avail. It will only connect and have web access when the virtual interface security is set to disabled. Not very secure! Anybody have advice on this matter?
All of my settings match those found at http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Repeater_Bridge, and my security settings for physical interface wl0 are WPA2 Personal (not Personal Mixed as it states not to use this in the link above) under the AES algorithm.

So, there is a file floating around that I'm sure has been linked here which is working great for the WNDR3400v2. I used the following instructs and it worked like a champ:
Goes without saying but check your MD5 to ensure file integrity. You can read my comment at the end of that article, listed my name as "anonymous" (posted 2014/05/28 at 22:19).
Several folks have verified the file. Flashed from Netgear firmware v1.0.0.38_1.0.61 which is the latest version listed on the Netgear site at the time of this writing.
Tips:
When I loaded the linked .chk file into the Netgear utility for the purpose of upgrading, the name of the file changed upon clicking the "upgrade" button and it considered it to be a downgrade. Not a problem, don't worry about that.
So great to be running the VPN without issue. Hope this helps others. Thanks for the forum.
I have installed the latest firmware from myopnrouter. All good, went without a hitch and runs smoothly. I have one problem. WiFi throughput will no go above 20Mbps, on both 2.4 and 5ghz. There must be a setting that im missing limiting. Any suggestions. Thanks.
Has anybody a newer or an older build like the one from myopenrouter?
I installed it and the QoS and port forwarding/DMZ do not work. However, the only reason I decided to install dd-wrt on this old router was to better my gaming experience on ps4 due to its qos and gaming optimization features.
So has anybody still anything handy that could work? Could also be like a firmware that works on the chipset of the wndr3400v2 (BCM5358 chipset).
