Router Model
Linksys WRT610N v1
Firmware Version
DD-WRT v24-sp2 (11/09/10) mega - build 15704

I am very confused on which build would be best.
I am losing G connection for a few seconds about 10x's a day can anyone point me to a more stable build for this router?
Thanks Nick

Recommended build is 14929. Favorites for E3000 (which is more or less similar to your router) are also 15962 and 16875.

If you are sure it's a V1, stick to K24 builds, they are seemingly more stable than K26 builds. Also, on K24 builds you are able to run programs which don't work on K26 (like mediatomb and twonky).

ok great thanks for replying I am 100% sure its a v1. ok so this would be the correct build?
dd-wrt.v24_mega_wrt610n.bin 7401 KB 8/12/2010

only reason I ask is miy current build is newer ran great for long time now G drops randomly. older build is fine I just want to make sure I use the correct file.

Yes, that would be the recommended build. Also try 15962, since some say it's more stable than 14929 in respect to wireless.

You probably should explain what 'dual options' means..

If you upgraded using the links that slobodan linked, then no, you may not have the options you need, you need to use this file:

ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/others/eko/BrainSlayer-V24-preSP2/2010/12-24-10-r15962/broadcom/dd-wrt.v24_mega_wrt610n.bin

Hard reset after upgrading and then you should be fine, i will perhaps explain why later, but off to work i go.

IIRC with this unit, it uses NEWD builds, but teeters on the edge of being both NEWD and NEWD2, because it uses the NEWD core but uses NEWD2 wireless drivers in its build, thus you have to either use the trailed build (the one with the router name in it) of its numbering or use k2.6 builds altogether for it. But IMHO, NEWD builds are somewhat more stable..
