Does anyone know how to get this WNDR4300v1 to act as a client bridge only? On the newest and oldest version I only get the option as a routed client bridge.

true proper bridge is wds. client bridge is the "fake bridge" but its problematic, unstable & buggy..just do a search for ddwrt atheros client bridge problem, recently theres been like 3 or more users over the last month i had to guide them off of it cause of problems..
if ur host router is also atheros & on ddwrt then u can use wds. if not, then "client" on the wndr4300 is best for not having problems, dual nat is tolerable. _________________ LATEST FIRMWARE(S)

I'm trying to use it as a bridge that I hook up a printer and a desktop using Ethernet cables with the 4300 lan ports; wirelessly connected to my Asus ap (my other two ap are 4300v2) but it's all stock. I use pfSense as my router and I got a wnr2000 as a client bridge just fine with dd wrt. But since it's problem; I'll look at the alternatives (now I see why errors racked up using a client bridge lol). I can't move the devices either and putting a cable is gonna be awhile. I would also prefer to have them keep the IP address I provide with my pfSense box. I really appreciate the reply 😬

i havent tried this but u could try using standard client mode, then on setup page give the ddwrt wndr4300 an ip thats still in the same subnet as the host, & set the dhcp server to dhcp forwarder instead, maybe also changing the operating mode to router afterwards if its not working.
ddwrt wds <-> stock fw wds wont work even if the same type of radios _________________ LATEST FIRMWARE(S)

what did u set it up as? client+vap?

if u mean on wireless status page ignore them, only wds will show no tx/rx errors for whatever reason. literally i was told to "ignore them" by the developer..is it just those or is there packet loss & lag etc? _________________ LATEST FIRMWARE(S)

Followed DD-Wrt guide of setting up repeater bridged; so a client bridge (Routed), wireless set up exactly the same as the connected ap and roughly all the correct additional options. I'd be able to connect to the internet from repeater side (might be slow) but errors would rack slowly.

ignore the errors, if theres any other problems besides those then action is needed. use it as is for a while & if u think the speed is abnormally pathetically low or theres packet loss then ull probably have to switch to client + vap (its similar just with dual nat which is fine for 90%) _________________ LATEST FIRMWARE(S)

Hi,
i have a problem with poor WiFi speeds (2.4/5GHz).
My file transfer speeds from local NAS are about 100 MB/s with cable connection through the router.
With WiFi I have only speeds about 6 MB/s with 2.4 and 5 GHz.
My WiFi Settings are attached. Security is WPA2 + AES
Notebook is Fujitsu with Intel Dual Band Wireless-N 7260.
Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r29837 std (06/06/16)
Getting ready to apply this soon, but before I did I wanted to see if anyone has had any odd issues with it other than the few WiFi setting changes that I'll need to make for ac/n channels, etc
