I am running the big build; it generally runs well, but wifi signal is weak and there is no TX power control (has no effect); it did work with k26 builds.
(http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=882516#882516 for more details)

Previous builds had wireless channels 12 and 13; they are no longer present in this build, but connection is noticeably more stable than in previous builds.
However these channels would be very useful and did work before.

transmissiond can be started from web interface but cannot disabled from there without reboot; one needs to kill it from terminal

This is about all Smile

TX power only makes a big difference if your client has a high RX/TX power, or a RX/TX power that can adjust. Smile

Ok but I typically have a RSSI -50dBm at 2m distance from the router; it increases if I bring the laptop near it but I don't see the interest in doing it... The signals from my neighbors' routers are all stronger, even if much more far away. And with k26 builds I had -25 to -10 dBm RSSI, and TX power adjustment did have influence on it...

And even if I "look like" a DD-WRT newbie, I have about 3 years of using it, and I am not a novice in wifi since I've been a network administrator for 10 years, so I have no need of being "patronized" Razz

Hi Guys,

I have just updated to the latest of brainslayer's K3.x builds (23598) and all seems well except for QoS.

Basically if I enable QoS (tried lots of different QoS configurations) and then run a test using speedtest.net, about half way through the downlink test, the router stops responding to pings and all clients (wired and wireless) get booted off for about 30 seconds.

Strictly speaking, I don't think the thing re-boots, but definitely kills any open connections.

The speetest is a reliable way to reproduce the issue, but it happens regularly without running the test.

Anyone have any insight? - I found this bug, but not sure if it is relevant: http://svn.dd-wrt.com/ticket/2943

I don't know if I can tail a log or something to diagnose, so please let me know if I can provide any more information.

BTW, I can confirm that with the K.3 builds the MMC card works and I can install OTRW 2 fine.

Thanks Smile

I am running the latest Brainslayer build 23598 on an E3000.

I have an issue with Portforwardings, they do not seem to be working and i get the log full of these messages.

nf_conntrack: expectation table full
nf_conntrack: expectation table full
nf_conntrack: expectation table full
nf_conntrack: expectation table full

I checked the connection limit and it has not been reached.
Any idea?

Just upgraded my E4200 with <dd-wrt.v24-23720_NEWD-2_K3.x_mega-e4200.bin>. Good news is, the wifi issues I was having with the previous build seem to be gone. The bad news is, web interface isn't accessable by http anymore, using https to access.

I have an E4200 flashed with this build, and it works ok by HTTP, it's just on port 88, not on port 80 (due to OTRW2 installation).

Hi just two questions, first since there are trailed builds for the F7D3302 has anyone tried it yet? Second are the Kernel Modules ftdi_sio and usbserial included in the mega build? Just saw they are in the 3.10 kernel sources but wasn't sure about the image.

cheers

Can you confirm if <dd-wrt.v24-23720_NEWD-2_K3.x_mega-e4200.bin> is stable enough for replacing a previous k2.6 version?

Thanks

Updated to kernel 3.x Brainlayer build 23720 big on my Asus RT-N16. Finally I have some control on the TX power; signal is still pretty weak though.
Wireless connection is much more stable, still experience some disconnects from time to time; this time they don't look related to the signal quality, something seems to happen at the wl0 chip (corerev 17).

One big problem is that WIFI channels higher than 11 are no longer available for setup in the web interface Sad ; they disappeared since build 23598 but I was able to use them with previous builds (see my previous posts http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=882516#882516 )

Everything else looks ok.

And a small addition; after upgrading DD-WRT I cleared the nvram; but I see that it created 2 entries with wl0_channel; is that normal??
it looks like this:

root@DD_WRT:~# nvram show| grep channel
wl0_wchannel=0
wl_channel=11
wl0_channel=11

I change Tp power setting to 71mW, the web GUI report it at Auto.

wl -i txpwr1 output:
Code:
root@DD-WRT:~# wl -i eth1 txpwr1
TxPower is 127 qdbm, 31.75 dbm, 1496 mW  Override is Off

It that normal? Change txpower to 72mW will properly set it at 71mW.

I flashed the dd-wrt.v24-23720_NEWD-2_K3.x_mega.bin build on my WNDR3400V2 and the 2.4Ghz radio works (AP,client,repeater using WPA2-AES). However, the LAN ports did not work.
After getting the svn source and adding hardware detection for it in libutils.so and services.so, the LAN ports and USB seem to be working OK. I just made it use the E2500 code, since the hardware appears similar - except the GPIOs.
I have attached GPIO info and my code patch in case that would help get support for the WNDR3400V2.
Thanks for all the great work you're doing.
